Membership:

Since 1931, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art has been the epicenter for contemporary art in Utah. Your membership directly supports compelling exhibitions by today’s most relevant local, national and international artists and innovative education and community outreach programs. Members experience a more intimate connection to the Museum by gaining early and exclusive access through members-only benefits. Memberships at specified levels are offered: * Educator * Friend * Individual * Dual/Family * Insider, and * Patron.

Donations:

Your support helps sustain the Museum’s extraordinary level of programming, outreach, and research – enabling thousands of visitors to experience the power of art. Your donation today plays a vital role in UMOCA’s future, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you. Any amount helps us provide a safe space for artistic experimentation and education.

  • Contemporary Circles: UMOCA’s Contemporary Circles memberships provide unique opportunities and access to the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. As a member, you’ll enjoy exclusive art trips, private artist dinners, behind-the-scenes tours, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic network of passionate art supporters and collectors.
  • Institutional Support: Grants and corporate sponsorships provide general operating and project support for UMOCA’s programming, which reaches over 60,000 people each year through robust exhibitions, community events, and state-wide education programs. UMOCA is deeply grateful for this support and thoughtfully partners with each of our institutional funders to find the right giving opportunity for their goals.
  • Gifts of Stock: A gift of appreciated securities like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is a flexible way to support the art you love. When you transfer securities to UMOCA, you receive a charitable deduction for the full market value and incur no capital gains taxes (depending on IRS deductible limitations), effectively reducing the cost of making your gift. Please be sure to consult with your legal, tax, or financial advisors before donating.
  • Gifts through Your IRA: If you are 70½ or older you can make a gift directly from your IRA to a qualifying public charity like UMOCA.
  • Donor Advised Funds: A donor-advised fund (DAF) functions like a charitable savings account that gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to UMOCA. You will qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction at the time you contribute to the DAF account.
  • Matching Gifts: Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees. Some companies even match donations made by spouses or retirees. Please check to see if your employer will match your donation to double or even triple the impact of your gift.
  • In-kind Gifts: UMOCA appreciates in-kind gifts that align with our mission and support core programs and special projects. These gifts of goods and services may include art supplies, office equipment, professional services, gift cards, and more. Before accepting, the gift is reviewed to see if it meets UMOCA’s needs. We reserve the right to politely decline any gift that does not further our goals or may require special maintenance
  • Planned Giving: By leaving a planned gift in your will or listing UMOCA as a beneficiary, you can communicate your values and dreams for the future while meeting your financial goals today. No matter the donation size, your legacy of support will bring the beauty and power of contemporary art to our Utah community for generations to come.

Volunteer: We are always looking for art lovers who want to spend time hanging out with us. UMOCA’s Volunteer Program is a great way to interact with the community and expand your knowledge of both the local and national contemporary art scenes, as well as the daily functions of an art museum. Schedules are flexible and there are no minimum monthly hours to fulfill. UMOCA provides parking during volunteer shifts and volunteers who assist 40 hours or more a year will receive a Minimalist level membership. Most volunteer opportunities take place in the museum, but some are off-site, including the Utah Arts Festival at Library Square and Art Truck visits to various schools and festivals throughout the valley.
