Hold your next event aboard the immensely popular, USS Midway Museum. Our unique downtown San Diego location, convention center proximity, and 360-degree panoramic views make it an unparalleled venue for every occasion! Midway can accommodate evening events after the museum closes for up to 4,000 people. There are no traditional ballrooms or convention center concourses aboard Midway. Rather, it is a unique atmosphere and setting that makes Midway an immensely popular San Diego event location. Three distinctive rental spaces are offered: 

• Flight Deck: Invite your guests for an unforgettable event on Midway’s four-acre outdoor deck floating in San Diego Bay. Rising 50 feet over the water, the flight deck features unparalleled 360-degree views of San Diego, spanning the downtown skyline, San Diego-Coronado Bridge, and Point Loma. Just as inspiring are the more than 30 remarkably restored naval aircraft on the flight deck, spanning nearly 50 years of naval aviation, from the dawn of the jet age in the early 1950s to Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Many events are held at the base of the superstructure beneath the ship’s signature “41”, which provides a towering backdrop to the festivities. Dramatically lit at night with “up and over” lighting, flight deck events concentrated near the island are unforgettable. Big or small, the flight deck’s flexible vast space is the hallmark of any event, where 50,000 square feet of usable space is available to be transformed for a custom experience for your guests.
  • Capacity: Reception Style – 200-4,000 guests; Seated Events – 800-1,200 guests
• Hangar Deck: Midway’s hangar deck is our largest covered space, comprised of Hangar Bays 1 and 2. Totaling approximately 17,000 usable square feet, the hangar deck features meticulously restored World war II aircraft. They create a dramatic and unique backdrop to every event and lend themselves to a variety of unique themed events. Larger events are held in Hangar Bay 1, which also features the Midway’s 90-seat Battle of Midway Theater and exhibit. Various lighting options are available to create even more drama. Immediately adjacent in Hangar 2, guests can climb into a variety of cockpit exhibits, experience a flight simulator, or visit the gift shop. Flight elevator 3, located on the port side also provides and inspiring view of San Diego.
  • Capacity: Reception Style – 1,500 guests; Seated Events – 200-600 guests
• Aimd Meeting Center: Make your next daytime meeting truly memorable by holding aboard a restored aircraft carrier! Midway’s meeting spaces are comprised of two larger conference rooms and adjacent smaller breakout rooms.
  • USS Langley Conference Room
    • Capacity: Fixed conference table for 30 guests
    • Features: A/V, Internet, six (6) wall-mounted monitors, telephone conferencing, notepads/pens, water service
  • USS Ranger Conference Room
    • Capacity: Theater or classroom style for 30 guests
    • Features: A/V, Internet, two (2) large mobile monitors, notepads/pens, water service
  • Three Breakout Rooms
    • Capacity: 8 guests
    • Features: A/V, Internet, whiteboard, notepads/pens, water service

Donations:

Your support makes a difference! The USS Midway Museum is a registered non-profit organization (EIN: 33-0556416) and receives no Government or Navy funding to operate. Every day, several hundred volunteers and staff work tirelessly to ensure the Museum is open to you 7 days a week, all year long! Help us support her legacy today. Your support of the USS Midway Museum helps fund our world-class education programs, attended in-person and virtually by nearly 60,000 students a year. You may also choose to support the expansion of exhibits or the long-term, ongoing maintenance and restoration of the ship. • Gifts of Securities or Other Assets
• Endowment: With assets at just over $1 million, the endowment will provide annual support for Midway’s educational programs for tens of thousands of students and teachers all over the United States. With a goal of $10 million by 2025, this fund would help offset operating expenses and allow the education program the ability to grow and expand its offering to even more students. Your gift of cash, securities, or a legacy gift will ensure this is possible in perpetuity.
• Pillars of Freedom Grants: Since 2016 the Foundation has granted $2.7 million to 51 organizations whose primary focus is improving the lives and communities of veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders. Those who sacrifice everything in the name of freedom. Grants have ranged from $5,000 to $90,000 and impacted more than 100,000 individuals. Through an annual grant application, the Foundation Board of Directors and staff will vet, monitor, and discuss the impacts of local organizations before granting a gift. Because of the generosity of the Board and the operational support of the museum, 100% of all gifts are granted. Your gift of cash, securities, or a legacy gift makes these impact grants possible.
• Artifact Donation: To honor the legacy of the USS Midway, our Curatorial team actively seeks USS Midway related items, naval aviation and aircraft carrier related items, and naval history periodicals.

Corporate Partnership: Partnership with the USS Midway Museum honors the legacy of those who serve, stimulates and challenges young minds through onboard STEM education programs, inspires millions of visitors world-wide through stories of courage, valor, and dedication, and aligns your brand with one of the most popular museum/attraction destinations in the world known for delivering engaging, authentic experiences.

Midway Foundation: Your tax-deductible gift helps fund fully vetted organizations that serve our veterans, military families and first responders. Grants provide for veterans’ housing, youth development, military family college scholarships, job training & placement, public safety support, emergency financial assistance, and even food and other basic needs.

Volunteer: Midway volunteers are essential to the everyday operations of the museum and are often the highlight of the ship experience for our visitors!
