A Unique Austin Venue: Thinkery is one of the most dynamic (and popular!) venues in Austin, providing play-based fun for kids and adults alike. Thinkery offers a one-of-a-kind setting for your next * social gathering * corporate event, or * wedding. Located in Mueller, Thinkery’s sprawling 40,000-square-foot facility is a singular part of the Austin landscape and an unforgettable venue for a variety of group events. Your party crew will enjoy nonstop fun, discovery and learning with full access to museum exhibits, a private party room and options for hands-on, educator-led activities. Three distinctive spaces are available:

Main Floor:

The main floor encompasses several eclectic, interconnected galleries that focus on STEAM concepts, and is an ideal option for children ages 5 and up. Your guests will be free to explore all interior gallery spaces as well as our popular outdoor play area, Our Backyard. The main floor can accommodate up to 65 total guests with social distancing encouraged.

Second Floor/Upstairs:

The second floor consists of two galleries geared toward younger visitors and is a perfect party option for kiddos age 0-5. This level also gives your group access to our Story Nook, which overlooks Mueller Lake Park. Our second floor can accommodate up to 45 guests total with social distancing encouraged.

Entire Museum:

This is the big one! Give your guests free rein of ALL our exciting galleries and exhibits, inside and out. This package can accommodate up to 100 guests, with plenty of space for safe social distancing at all times.

It’s our mission to create innovative learning experiences that equip and inspire the next generation of creative problem solvers. We can’t do it without you. Families throughout Central Texas know and love Thinkery. We’re a STEAM engine to power kids’ imagination, creativity, and lifelong love of learning. What you may not know is how much more there is to our mission—and what we contribute to the larger community. Thinkery is more than a children’s museum and STEAM learning center. It is a 501(c)(3), private nonprofit organization; last year we served more than 460,000 children and their grown-ups.
Thinkery works to deliver better access and new opportunities for children and families throughout Austin, regardless of means. We are a professional development and networking resource for local educators and childcare providers. We provide special programs dedicated to early learners and resources for new parents. We help researchers study how parents and play can guide children to learn in new ways. Thinkery is a vital part of — and a trusted hub for — the entire Austin community. We partner with hundreds of local nonprofits and community organizations each year on a variety of initiatives and events.
