The Taft Museum of Art is the perfect venue for your personal events and celebrations, as well as company gatherings. The Taft Museum of Art offers historic architecture, stylish spaces, and downtown convenience paired with exquisite food from the region’s top caterers, full bar services, and added amenities you can only enjoy at the museum, such as access to exhibitions and collection galleries. We have options for private events both during and outside of museum operating hours. Complimentary garage parking is included.Three distinctive spaces are available:

  • Garden Tent: The tented brick terrace provides a picture-perfect venue for weddings, large events, and galas. The 30 × 90-foot tent, secluded behind the museum, adjoins a beautifully landscaped garden with an open lawn, ideal for photography. This versatile space can be arranged to accommodate any large event hosted from spring through fall, including a band and dance floor.
    • Capacity: 200-350 guests
  • Luther Hall: This is an indoor 30 x 40-foot cherry-paneled room with state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities. It is an ideal setting for special occasions and business needs alike. The space is equipped with AV and available for breakfast, lunch, and all-day gatherings. Offers in-person and virtual hosting capabilities for hybrid meetings. Available year-round.
    • Capacity: Standing – 120 guests / Seated – 75 guests
  • Fitch Conference Room: Overlooking the beautiful Taft gardens, this intimate room is perfect for corporate meetings and includes state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities. Offers in-person and virtual hosting capabilities for hybrid meetings. Available year-round.
    • Capacity: 12 guests

Taft Café: Unwind and dine in the café and at the museum’s garden patio (weather permitting) with artfully prepared meals, including delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices.  Members enjoy a 10% discount. Enjoy a scrumptious menu including boozy brunch, savory lunch, and grab-and-go coffee and tea service at the Taft Café. Enjoy prepared meals and easy take-away options if you’re on the go.

Membership

Support a one-of-a-kind art collection and piece of history that is deeply connected to the community. Your membership helps us preserve this beautiful institution for today and for the future. All memberships include unlimited free admission to the museum’s collection in the historic house and exhibitions (unless noted otherwise). As a not-for-profit institution, the Taft relies on your Leadership level donation, provides critical support to care for our permanent collection and to host lectures, introduce new exhibitions, offer hands-on art activities and education for children, maintain our circa 1820 historical home, and much more!

Volunteer Opportunities: There are many ways to get involved! From departmental support to gallery education, opportunities await. Support Volunteers help throughout the museum, spreading their enthusiasm throughout everything they do! No prior experience is necessary—just an interest in the activities and programs the museum offers.  Opportunities Include:

  • Special events assistance (weekends and evenings)
  • Guest and member services (weekdays and weekends)
  • Office assistance (weekdays)
  • Research (weekdays, when positions are available)

Support Volunteers commit to serving at least 6 hours a month. Onboarding for new Support Volunteers occurs once in the fall and once in the spring. Onboarding sessions are 3 hours and typically occur on Tuesday mornings.

Volunteer Educators: Volunteer Educators support museum programming by facilitating engaging gallery experiences for museum guests, assisting with artmaking projects, and helping with outreach programs. No prior experience is required, but comfort speaking in front of groups and a desire to learn about art and history is essential. Opportunities Include:

  • Leading school experiences in the museum for students in grades PK-12 (weekdays)
  • Leading tours of special exhibitions and the museum’s collection for adult groups (weekdays and weekends)
  • Facilitating artmaking projects for youth and family groups both in the museum and at partner locations (weekdays and weekends)

Onboarding for new Volunteer Educators occurs over 10-12 weeks every fall. Onboarding sessions are 2 hours long on Tuesday mornings.
