The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is the perfect site for any special event. You and your guests can enjoy a day or evening in one of the Nation’s premier museums. Whether in the Sam Noble Special Events Center, the S.B. “Burk” Burnett Board Room, or on the Western States Plaza, a beautiful outdoor setting, the Museum provides an atmosphere that is second to none. Six distinctive spaces are available:

• Sam Noble Special Events Center: This magnificent 16,500 square foot facility offers the most unique and breathtaking décor in the West. Five monumental 18′ x 46′ triptychs depicting Western landscapes by renowned artist Wilson Hurley, adorn the walls of this one-of-a-kind banquet area. These five western landscapes are the largest set of triptych paintings in the nation. They were completed between 1992 and 1996 by Wilson Hurley, and reside in the Sam Noble Special Events Center. Each of the 18′ x 46′ triptychs, dubbed “Windows to the West,” depict a particular western location caught at sunset, and all, except one, have the same horizon line with the light streaming in from the west. The first, New Mexico Suite, was completed in 1992, and shows an momentous sky over the Sandia Mountains as viewed from the west side of the Rio Grande near Albuquerque. In 1993 came Arizona Suite, a view of the Grand Canyon from an unusual lower level looking upward. Then in 1994 California Suite, depicting Point Lobos on the Pacific Coast near Carmel, with the sun setting over the ocean, appeared. Utah Suite, completed in 1995, contains a magnificent view of Monument Valley under a cloudless sky. Finally, in 1996, Wyoming Suite, with its spectacular view of the lower falls of the Yellowstone River, complete the assemblage.
• S.B. “Burk” Burnett Board Room: Whether you want to impress your top clients or conduct a breakaway session with your staff, our Board Room is the perfect conference or small dining area. Audio visual equipment is available for your use. The room is also available for more intimate evening gatherings and receptions.
  • Capacity: Banquet Style – 110 guests  I  Theater Style – 180 guests
• Western States Plaza & Gardens: If you love the great outdoors, you’ll enjoy this spacious plaza and garden area nestled among glistening pools and native plants and flowers. Western States Plaza may only be reserved in conjunction with rental of the Sam Noble Special Events Center or Prosperity Junction.
• Prosperity Junction Event Space: Transport your guests to a bygone era as they experience Prosperity Junction, a turn-of-the-century cattle town with rail connections. The town has its own history and its own location – somewhere in the West. The railroad arrived a few years ago and the days of raw frontier are fading as goods and services from the East transform it into a settled community. The time of day is just after sunset and most of the 19 buildings stand two-stories tall with light streaming from doors and windows illuminating Main Street. Guests can order a drink in the Silver Dollar Saloon, take a selfie in Osborn Photography, and explore the school house, church, bank, and train depot. Sounds of life lend to the town with the tones of a distant train whistle, the faintly heard barking of a dog, the rushing of the wind across the prairie. Meanwhile, the upbeat piano tunes in the Saloon contrasts the peaceful hymns from the church organ. This balanced combination of light and sound enhance an already dramatic setting.
  • Capacity: This space seats 190-280, varies on the setup needs.
• Annie Oakley Society Event Center: The Annie Oakley Society Event Center is ideal for a wedding reception. Available for evening events only.
  • Capacity: Banquet Style – 150 guests  I  Cocktail Reception – 300 guests
• Liichokoshkomo’ Town Square: The Town Square is perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony. A variety of setup options are available throughout the Liichokoshkomo’ outdoor experience. Available for evening events only.
  • Capacity: Theater Style – 300 guests

Rodeo Historical Society: The Rodeo Historical Society (RHS) is an organization under the auspices of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. RHS Membership supports the rodeo programs of the Museum, including research, an ongoing oral history project, acquisition of collection materials for the American Rodeo Gallery and the prestigious Rodeo Hall of Fame. RHS Members receive free Museum admission, two issues of The Ketchpen Magazine annually, and voting privileges for select Rodeo Hall of Fame Inductees.

Volunteer: The great stories of the American West exist because of teachers, scholars, elders, and storytellers. Since opening in 1965, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum embraced this story telling tradition. It continues today through the strength and passion of volunteers. Volunteers interpret the evolving history and culture of the West. The Museum’s success and guest experience depend upon their generous time, effort, energy, and expertise.
