The true American West is not defined by a single, stereotypical concept. It is actually a representation of the diverse cultures and backgrounds of the people that live there. Everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender or creed, has the cowboy spirit within them. We are all cowboys. When you support the Western Heritage Fund at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, you directly impact the celebration and preservation of the true American West. We hope you will consider making a tax-deductible gift today!
Annie Oakley Society: The Annie Oakley Society is made up of women leaders and philanthropists who, like Annie Oakley, play a significant role in shaping their communities while keeping the values and spirit of the West alive. Members are working with the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to build and sustain world-class educational experiences to teach children and families the rich history of the American West. In addition to preserving Western heritage and supporting children’s education, the members of the Annie Oakley Society honor a woman of significance at their annual luncheon.
Prix de West Society: Society members have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic series of social, educational and experience-driven events including access to curators, the opportunity to build lasting relationships with artists, tour private collections and the chance to travel on exclusive art trips. By joining the Prix de West Society, you play a transformative role in supporting the Museum and illuminating its contemporary Western art exhibitions. More importantly, you help to ensure the Museum’s future and the lives it touches by sharing the resonant and splendid story of the West.
Rodeo Historical Society: The Rodeo Historical Society (RHS) is an organization under the auspices of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. RHS Membership supports the rodeo programs of the Museum, including research, an ongoing oral history project, acquisition of collection materials for the American Rodeo Gallery and the prestigious Rodeo Hall of Fame. RHS Members receive free Museum admission, two issues of The Ketchpen Magazine annually, and voting privileges for select Rodeo Hall of Fame Inductees.
Volunteer: The great stories of the American West exist because of teachers, scholars, elders, and storytellers. Since opening in 1965, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum embraced this story telling tradition. It continues today through the strength and passion of volunteers. Volunteers interpret the evolving history and culture of the West. The Museum’s success and guest experience depend upon their generous time, effort, energy, and expertise.
