The Magic House offers a unique and creative environment for any special occasion including: * parties * weddings * corporate events * fundraisers * school family nights, and * more. With the flexibility to rent the entire Museum or just a portion. Celebrate your child’s special day at The Magic House! A variety of age-appropriate, hands-on activities make every birthday magical and memorable. Birthday parties at The Magic House include all-day admission to the Museum for hosts and guests. The Magic House also offers birthday party options at our satellite location on Delmar Boulevard. Ten distinctive rental spaces are offered:

  • The Magic House: Rent both the North and South wing at a discounted rate!
    • Capacity: 1,000 guests
  • North Wing: Featuring three levels of exhibit areas including the Star-Spangled Center, World Traveler Gallery, Traveling Exhibit Gallery and spacious Grand Hall.
    • Capacity: 500 guests
  • South Wing: Over 25,000 square feet of fun and favorites that include the Children’s Village, Whitaker Theater, Wonder Works, Three-Story Slide and the Electrostatic Generator.
    • Capacity: 500 guests
  • The Grand Hall: Perfect for weddings and seated dinners; larger parties can be accommodated in a dazzling 1,000-square-foot
    Conservatory and Grand Hall.

    • Capacity: 200 seated or 300 reception (180 with a dance floor)
  • Whitaker Theater and Children’s Village: Dine, dance and enjoy a night of fun and exploration in an environment that makes adults wish they were kids again.
    • Capacity: 120 seated or 200 reception
  • Conference Room: The Magic House offers a unique and creative space to spark your employees’ imaginations and productivity.
    • Capacity: 20 guests, Conference Room table seats 12
  • Whitaker Theater: A spacious and versatile room with a vaulted ceiling, perfect for a unique office meeting or special event.
    • Capacity: 120 seated or 250 reception
  • Mary Ann’s Garden (Add-on Option): Make your event blossom in this beautiful garden featuring a wrap-around porch, three distinct patios and winding paths surrounded by flowers.
    • Capacity: 170 Seated wedding ceremony or 30 Reception
  • Pavilion (Add-on Option): Create a magical memory in this serene outdoor venue which includes a beautiful Victorian Pavilion, Sculpture Garden, and Nature Play exhibit.
    • Capacity: 50 seated or 100 reception
  • STEAM Center (Add-on Option): Experiment, create, calculate, invent and make discoveries! The STEAM Center features a Science Lab,
    technology-infused Future Play exhibit, Make-It Workshop, Art Studio and Math Path.

Membership:

Magic House members support the Museum’s mission to provide hands-on learning while enjoying unique member benefits all year long. Donations:

The true cost of providing high-quality, hands-on exhibits and programs goes beyond admission fees. Community support ensures that The Magic House can fulfill its commitment to reach those children in our region who have the fewest opportunities and greatest needs.

  • Annual Giving Fund: A gift to our Annual Giving Fund provides support for the Museum’s hands-on exhibits, unique programs and learning experiences for children of all ages and abilities, free field trips, outreach programs and family nights for children in need.   • 1979 Circle: Named for the year The Magic House was established, the 1979 Circle is The Magic House’s giving society that recognizes individuals who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more.

Tribute gifts support Museum programs while recognizing individuals important to the gift giver. Contributions are entirely tax-deductible and are acknowledged with a personal letter sent from The Magic House as requested by the donor.

Supporting the Museum through a planned gift is a way to establish a permanent legacy that will brighten the lives of children for generations to come. Planned giving enables you to give gifts of assets that benefit your family both now and in the future. Individuals who support The Magic House through planned giving are recognized as members of The Magic House’s Founders Society.
  • Endowment: Gifts to the endowment help secure the financial future of The Magic House and will impact the lives of children in the St. Louis region for generations to come. As an important financial foundation for its future, The Magic House is seeking to raise $20 million in endowed support by 2020. The endowment would provide much needed annual income to ensure support of the facility, education programs and the highest priority needs of the Museum.
  • Corporate and Foundation Support: Corporate and foundation support are vital to the success of The Magic House. These special partnerships allow The Magic House to expand its impact and create new and exciting programs and exhibits at the Museum. The Magic House is proud to have the support of our corporate and foundation partners.
  • Corporate Marketing Sponsorships: Partnership opportunities offer unique cross-marketing and brand exposure aligned with community commitment for your organization. The Magic House reaches nearly 600,000 visitors per year at the Museum and many more through our social media and other marketing efforts.
  • MADE for Kids: Through The Magic House’s Access for All Initiative, we strive to ensure that children with the fewest opportunities and greatest needs have access to the unique exhibits and educational programs at The Magic House and The Magic House, MADE for Kids. Through the generosity of friends like you, The Magic House is able to provide free admission, memberships, field trips and other educational experiences to underserved children, families and schools.

Volunteer: The Magic House committee volunteers share their time, talents and resources to further the mission of the Museum. The Magic House has three volunteer committees, including the Friends Committee, Grand Committee and Young Professionals Board. These individuals help plan, organize and execute fundraising events.
