Scholarships
There are a variety of scholarships available at Stuhr Museum and our supporters are able to contribute to these opportunities directly.
Scholarships for Schools: These scholarships help provide tuition support for public schools and eligible students participating in the Structure Class field trips at Stuhr Museum. Teachers, administrators and social workers may apply. Field Trip Scholarships are open to Title I and/or Rural public schools.
Summer Adventures Scholarships: These scholarships help remove barriers that might prevent students from attending Stuhr Museum Summer Adventures Classes. It provides tuition, transportation and meals to economically disadvantaged youth as they attend Summer Adventure Classes.
Living History Apprentice Program Participant Scholarship: Each year, youth aged 11–17 make the choice to donate their valuable time and talent to serve as Living History Apprentices (LHA’s) in Railroad Town at Stuhr Museum. This scholarship was created in an effort to assist in the cost of period attire and training so that LHA’s may engage visitors through direct interaction and hands-on encounters providing an immersive experience that will forge indelible memories and form a true connection to Nebraska’s rich and storied pioneer history.
Capture the legacy of a family, loved one or business and help support youth and higher education opportunities at the same time. The Stuhr Museum Foundation can assist in developing these scholarship funds. For more information, contact us today.
Gifts of Stock, Commodities, and Property
A charitable donation can include gifts of closely held stock, securities, or commodities. Farmers and ranchers can save significant taxes by contributing commodities such as corn and cattle to the Stuhr Museum Foundation instead of making a cash contribution after selling the commodity. Donors should consult their tax advisor to determine whether a contribution of commodities is appropriate to their tax situation.
Planned Giving
At Stuhr Museum the determination, ingenuity, and spirit of those who built the first towns on the Great Plains is preserved and shared with visitors from across the globe — their legacy endures to this day. Your contributions to the community can carry on and be added to this story by making a gift to Stuhr Museum via the Stuhr Museum Foundation. Whether through a bequest, trust, retirement plan, IRA, a planned gift will be a lasting legacy to you and your family.
