South Union Shaker Village is a historic site that offers award-winning exhibitions and education programming, focused on the folk life and material culture of the former Shaker community (1807-1922). Situated on 500 acres of the original Shaker farm, the village is comprised of nine historic buildings.
A Graceful Setting For The Perfect Wedding and Other Celebrations:
Meadows: Three primary locations from which to choose [other sites available upon request] include North Meadow located behind the Visitor Center, Barn Meadow located in front of the 1875 Grain Barn, and Ministry Meadow located in the grove behind the Ministry shop
Rental package includes: Exclusive use of one of three Meadow locations and the Visitor Center for up to 8 hours; access to restrooms, kitchen, and changing rooms located in the Visitor Center; electric service; space for guests and parking, and one hour rehearsal the day before your event.
South Union Hotel: Built in 1869 as a business venture for the Shakers, the South Union Hotel catered to people of “the world,” Victorian railroad travelers who stopped at South Union. One of the last surviving 19th century railroad hotels, South Union Hotel boasts * three dining rooms, an * enclosed sun porch, and * a large catering kitchen with seating for approximately 60 guests.
Rental package includes: exclusive use of the 1869 South Union Hotel (first floor); parking in the adjacent field; use of the sun porch for buffet-style service; and electric service.
Corporate Rentals: The South Union Hotel can be rented for corporate functions at an hourly rate. This venue offers a private space for your event in a unique and historic environment. Corporate clients will enjoy the ease of planning their event with hands-on event staff. South Union can provide audio/visual equipment for your meeting or event.
Photography: South Union is a picturesque location that we are glad to share. We love seeing engagement sessions, senior portraits, and even gender reveal photo shoots taking place here. (In order to preserve our site, we ask that all photographers read and sign our photography policy.)
