Featuring stunning facilities, including classic galleries such as Sculpture Hall, the Saint Louis Art Museum is an elegant setting for your private event. From classic galleries and locations in the Museum’s Main Building to contemporary spaces in the East Building, we offer a range of unparalleled venues for your next event. With many space and catering options to meet your specifications, we can accommodate everything from small, intimate parties to grand-scale receptions. Six distinctive rental spaces are offered:

  • Sculpture Hall: This expansive and grand entrance to the Museum’s Beaux Arts building was designed by famed architect Cass Gilbert and features Roman arches and vaults.
    • 7,500 square feet
    • Capacity: Cocktail – 400 guests; Seated – 275 guests; Buffet – 240 guests
  • Taylor Hall: This entrance to the East Building features the open and modern elements that characterize architect David Chipperfield’s impressive, light-filled designs.
    • 3,500 square feet
    • Capacity: Cocktail – 120 guests, per fire code (add Panorama Restaurant to achieve 245); Seated – 100 guests (add Panorama Restaurant to achieve 200); Lecture (chairs only) – 150 guests (add Panorama Restaurant to comply with fire code)
  • Grigg Gallery: One of the Museum’s largest galleries. Grigg Gallery contains the Museum’s renowned collection of Max Beckmann paintings and features a skylight and parquet floors.
    • 2,660 square feet
    • Capacity: Cocktail – 150 guests; Seated – 100 guests; Lecture (chairs only) – 150 guests
  • Panorama Restaurant: Panorama, the Museum’s fine dining restaurant is available for private functions outside of public hours. During public hours the Private Dining Room is available for private functions.
    • Full Restaurant – 1,560 square feet
    • Full Restaurant Capacity: Cocktail – 125 guests; Seated – 95 guests (set up dependent)
    • Private Dining Room – 640 square feet
    • Private Dining Room Capacity: Lunch/Dinner (seated) – 36 guests
  • The Farrell Auditorium: The Farrell Auditorium boasts state-of-the-art acoustics, a 1,600 square foot theatrical stage with serpentine apron, 1,200 square feet of wing space, and digital projection.
    • Auditorium Capacity: 465 guests
    • Auditorium Lobby Capacity: Cocktail – 200 guests
  • Education Center: This multi-function space can transition to accommodate a wide variety of events, including lectures, meetings, and social occasions.
    • Square Feet: 1,400
    • Capacity: Standing – 90 guests; Seated – 80 guests; Lecture – 90 guests

You can also share the Museum with loved ones by giving a gift membership. Donations:

  • Give to the Annual Fund: We are grateful for your support of the Saint Louis Art Museum, and appreciate you helping to carry on the Museum’s tradition of bringing world-class exhibitions and art experiences to our city!
  • Matching Gifts: Did you know that many companies will double or even triple your gift to the Saint Louis Art Museum by matching your contribution dollar for dollar or more? With your employer’s help, you can double the impact of your support, and in many cases, upgrade your membership to a higher level. Companies will often match the gifts of retirees as well. To find out whether your employer offers a matching gift program, contact your human resources department.
  • Tributes and Memorials: Honor or remember special individuals with a gift to the Saint Louis Art Museum. Through a commemorative gift, a personal acknowledgment is sent to the family or individual being honored and recognition will be included in the Museum Magazine.
  • Beaux Arts Council: The Leadership Council and Beaux Arts Council are a collective group of over 500 households who have chosen to make a personal investment in the Saint Louis Art Museum. Their philanthropic support helps the Museum to serve an expanding audience, support education and outreach programs that enrich our community, provide critical resources to help care for and share the collection, and bring diverse exhibitions to Saint Louis. In return for their generosity, these members enjoy the special access and exclusive experiences that Beaux Arts Council membership provides, including curator-led exhibition and collection tours, exhibition preview receptions, and invitation to the annual Beaux Arts Council Dinner.
  • Gifts of Art: The Museum appreciates the generosity of donors who wish to make gifts of art. Giving a work of art ensures that your treasured piece will be cared for to the highest standards and displayed for the scholarship and enjoyment of generations to come. Donating artwork requires special attention, and every donation must undergo a formal review process. Although a work may be artistically significant, it may not be appropriate for the Museum’s collection.
  • Corporate Partnerships: The Corporate Partnership Program supports the Saint Louis Art Museum and its activities year round. Thanks to this and other generous support, the Museum is able to provide more than 125,000 children, students, teachers, and families each year with no-cost programs that bring them closer to the arts and to each other. It also extends opportunities to more than 150 schools and community organizations that collaborate with the Museum to create innovative programs. What’s more, your investment contributes to strengthening St. Louis as a regional center for economic development and talent attraction.
  • Corporate Sponsorship: The Saint Louis Art Museum offers many opportunities for your company to show its support for the arts and our community. Exhibition and event sponsorship provides unique brand exposure, marketing value, and engagement with the Museum’s 20,000 members and 500,000 annual visitors.
