As a VENUE: Host your event…

Celebrate a special event with history as your backdrop!  The Old Barracks offers several unique 18th century spaces to bring history to life and create a memorable event for you and your guests. Six distinctive spaces are available:

  • The Board Room (14′ by 21′) can accommodate a small dinner party for up to 20 people.
  • The Founder’s Room (13′ by 34′) can accommodate a cocktail or buffet event for up to 30 people.
  • The Oliphant Room (13′ by 15′) is best suited for a welcoming room or bar area.
  • The Officer’s House can accommodate a small dinner party for up to 15 people or a cocktail party for up to 40 people.
  • The Parade Grounds and/or backyard can accommodate a sit down dinner or cocktail party for up to 400 people (200 people seated dinner).
  • The Backyard Pavilion can accommodate an outdoor / picnic rental for up to 20 people under the pavilion.

Membership

The Old Barracks depends upon the generosity of private citizens who wish to see this important landmark preserved to help future generations understand their own rich past. As a member of the Old Barracks Association, you will be a part of one of New Jersey’s oldest public-private partnerships in support of a historic site. Membership at specified levels is offered: * Washington’s Company (Patron) * Senior (62+), and * Cadet (Single Student).

Donation

Your generous support sustains the Old Barracks Museum’s educational programming, special events, historical research, collection maintenance, and more. Donations help ensure the building and museum’s future of education and preservation.

  • Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion.

Volunteer: We offer a wide range of opportunities for volunteers, ranging from historic interpretation to office help.

Internships: The Old Barracks Museum offers several internship opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students throughout the year. This is a great way for students to gain practical and hands-on experience in a museum setting by working directly with our experienced staff in interpretive, curatorial or development departments.
