The Oklahoma History Center offers a unique setting for your special events, from the most elegant celebration to informal gatherings. The Oklahoma History Center’s event spaces are ideal settings for: * Weddings * Wedding receptions * Birthday parties * Anniversary parties * Sweet 16 parties * Bar mitzvahs * Bat mitzvahs * Reunions * Meetings * Banquets * Holiday parties * Luncheons * Seminars * Workshops * Trade shows * Employee recognition * Award ceremonies * Fundraisers, and * Performances.

The facility fee is very reasonable and includes setup, staffing, security, maintenance, and audio/visual equipment use. A preferred catering list can be provided, and outside catering is allowed with prior approval and an additional fee. Special discounts are available for government and non-profit organizations. Let the Oklahoma History Center’s knowledgeable and capable staff help make your event a success.

Seven distinctive spaces are available:

• Devon Great Hall: The Devon Great Hall is a striking setting for evening events. Hardwood floors with polished granite accents create an atmosphere of sophistication. A soaring eighty-foot floor-to-ceiling glass atrium offers a dramatic view of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Guests will marvel at the replica of Wiley Post’s famous Winnie Mae airplane suspended overhead.
• Chesapeake Event Center and Gallery: The Chesapeake Event Center and Gallery is an extraordinary meeting space for distinctive occasions. Rich wood walls and granite highlights are accented by elements of artwork from the State Capitol. Complete with a built-in stage, rear-projection screen, wireless audio, remote-controlled video, and variable lighting, this venue is fully equipped for gatherings. Groups can be comfortably seated in banquet, theater or lecture-style seating in this beautiful meeting room.

• The Atrium Bridge
• The Rhonda and David Walters Plaza featuring the Colonial Dames Fountain
• The East Terrace featuring Harold T. Holden’s majestic sculpture Monarch at Rest

• Annual Giving: Your Annual Giving Campaign donation provides essential funds to support new exhibits, education programs, projects, and special events. Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion. Recurring gifts are greatly appreciated. Employer matched gifts are welcomed.
• Naming Opportunities: Individuals, foundations, or companies may support the Oklahoma Historical Society and at the same time have their names, or that of ancestors, colleagues, or family members associated with the Oklahoma Historical Society and the people, both famous and anonymous, who played roles in our state’s history, honored and remembered.
  • Red River Historical and Botanical Markers: Honoring the Past and Present. Pay tribute to loved ones by honoring them with a special Red River Journey Historical or Botanical Marker on the Oklahoma History Center grounds. Historical markers are placed along the Red River Journey to recognize sites and events from Oklahoma’s captivating past, including land openings, the Red River War, Bloomfield Mission, and the Dragoon Expedition of 1834. Botanical markers highlight specimens of various native trees and plants such as mesquite, post oak, hackberry, and western soapberry.
  • Oklahoma Family Tree Project: Commemorate your family name on the Oklahoma Family Tree. The Family Tree is made up of gold and silver redbud leaves which are affixed to the wall around the base of the tree. Each leaf contains three lines of lettering on a 3″ x 3″ space. The first line is for the family name; the second line lists first name(s), the last line shows a town or county. A brief family history of each family recognized on the tree will be available online and in a digital family history book located next to the sculpture.
  • Legacy Limestone Pavers: Leave Your Legacy at the Oklahoma History Center. Legacy Limestone Pavers are a wonderful way for individuals, families, and organizations to leave a legacy for current and future generations at the Oklahoma History Center. Pavers can be used to recognize family, friends, and organizations, or to memorialize special individuals, groups, and events.
• Honorary and Memorial Contributions: Recipients will be notified of your generosity. Be sure to include the name of the person or family that you wish to honor, the name and address of any relatives of the honoree whom you would like OHS to notify, and your name and address so we may acknowledge your contribution.
• Endowments and Legacy Giving: Endowments investments help provide income in perpetuity for Oklahoma Historical Society programs, museums, historic sites, exhibits, and more. Donating to an Oklahoma Historical Society endowment fund will help ensure the OHS will continue to collect, preserve, and share Oklahoma history for generations to come.
• Donate Artifacts

Volunteer: The mission of the Oklahoma History Center Volunteer Services Program is to provide trained and dedicated volunteers to assist with the daily and ongoing operations of the various departments within the Oklahoma Museum of History. Volunteers are an active part of the mission of the Oklahoma History Center, providing invaluable resources through educational programs, assisting in the daily operations of the building, and assisting with long-term goals. The Volunteer Services Program provides volunteers with social and networking opportunities through daily interaction, field trips, and the annual appreciation gala, as well as continuing educational benefits through presentations, lectures, and demonstrations. Realizing that volunteers seek a variety of experiences, we allow participants to volunteer their time in a number of ways.
