As a VENUEHost your event…

The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art is your premier event venue in Biloxi. Our Frank Gehry-designed buildings and ancient oaks make the perfect setting for: * weddings * cocktail parties * meetings, and * other events. Four distinctive rental spaces are offered:

  • Outdoor Brick Plaza: A scenic area that’s great for outdoor events. The brick plaza and lawn make for an incredibly diverse venue. The plaza is great for weddings, fairs, expos, festivals, and more.
  • The Mississippi Sound Welcome Center: The largest indoor space on campus. It is a wonderful space for ceremonies, dinners, art shows, and other events.
    • Capacity: Standing – 300 guests; Seated – 120 guests
  • The City of Biloxi Center for Ceramics 4th Floor: Sometimes referred to as our Tea Room or our Board Room. This space is best equipped for small events like meetings, rehearsal dinners, small receptions, and parties. The view from this area, when considering the combination of the natural beauty of the coast with our deconstructivist architecture, is incomparable to anything you’ll see along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
    • Capacity: Standing – 75 guests; Seated – 30 guests
  • The City of Biloxi Center for Ceramics 2nd Floor Community Room: Larger than the 4th floor—especially when considering the gorgeous terrace that is perfect for a sunset occasion like a wedding ceremony or reception. The floors in this room are coated concrete which is perfect for art classes and makes cleanup a breeze.
    • Capacity: Standing – 150 guests; Seated – 75 guests

Additionally, Specialized support is facilitated through: * Sponsorships * Targeted Campaigns * Annual Planned Giving * Gifts of Stock or Appreciated Securities * Giving Tuesday Movement, and * Fundraisers.

  • Brick & Mortar Campaign: With a $125 donation, you will receive an engraved commemorative brick on the Museum Plaza, the open courtyard between the John S. and James L. Knight Gallery, also known as the Gallery Pods, and the Pleasant Reed House. Your brick will symbolize a foundation of support for the museum and can be used to acknowledge a loved one, memorialize a special event, or celebrate your love for our community.
  • Great Families of the Gulf Coast Campaign: The Great Families of the Gulf Coast campaign is intended to fund completion of one of the Frank Gehry designed galleries in the John S. and James L. Knight Pod Pavilion. The gallery will become the permanent home for the museum’s vast collection of George Ohr pottery. This ongoing campaign also seeks to strengthen the bond between the museum and the community which it serves. The museum is asking 500 great Gulf Coast families to contribute $1,000 each for the completion of the gallery. Contributions will not only ensure the legacy of the museum but also of the great families that make up the cultural identity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Contributors will receive public recognition, acknowledgment at the grand opening of the gallery, and their name’s inscription in the gallery in perpetuity.

Volunteer: Volunteering is a great way to become familiar with contemporary art and artists while working as part of a professional art museum team. Flexible schedules and exciting opportunities are available. Volunteers 18 years of age and up work with museum staff, art educators, and other individuals. Visitor Service Assistants gain customer service experience at the information desk during daily activities and during special events and programs. Children’s Class Assistants gain childcare and teaching experience as they learn hands on about art museum education as a profession. Gallery Attendant volunteers welcome guests to the galleries and offer information about current and permanent exhibits.
