The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is the art & soul of Kansas City. When we aren’t celebrating a family festival, hosting a lavish gala or presenting an artist talk, museum spaces can be rented to members and the public. From grand settings for unforgettable events to distinctive spaces for meetings and luncheons, the Nelson-Atkins has a variety of venues perfect for any occasion. Rozzelle Court Restaurant is the exclusive caterer for all museum events. Find the perfect space for * Weddings * Luncheons * Meetings * Receptions * Presentations, and * more. Six distinctive spaces are available:
- Atkins Auditorium blends up-to-date audio/visual capabilities with a gracious setting. The coffered ceiling and highly polished wooden stage create a handsome setting for an annual shareholders meeting or a distinguished speaker. The acoustics are well-suited for film, voice and music.
- Capacity: Seated – 500 guests
- Bloch Lobby is a breathtaking space that evokes both grandeur and grace. With a view of the plaza and north façade of the Nelson-Atkins Building and ample room, this magnificent space is the perfect location for large gatherings.
- Kirkwood Hall is a grand and beautiful space. Flanked by twelve massive columns of black and white marble, this vast room is approximately forty feet high. The limestone walls are adorned with original tapestries from the museum’s collection.
- Capacity: Reception – 1,000 guests / Seated – 450 guests
- Lens 2, Named for the distinctive design of the Bloch Building, the Lens 2 event room is a great vantage point for spectacular views of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park. The translucent walls light up at night to give added ambiance to any event.
- Capacity: Reception – 135 guests / Seated – 96 guests / Meetings – 60 guests
- The Rockhill Room is enclosed on three sides by white walls, the fourth side is one of clear glass that affords a view of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park. The room has audio-visual capabilities, with an adjoining audio-visual booth.
- Capacity: Reception – 80 guests / Seated – 50 guests
- Rozzelle Court is one of the most popular venues in Kansas City. This interior courtyard is ninety feet square and surrounded by a two-story arcade. Rozzelle Court may be used for private evening functions.
- Capacity: Reception – 500 guests / Seated – 215 guests

Donations
Your contribution ensures dynamic educational programs, spectacular exhibitions and the display of the finest visual arts for more than 500,000 visitors each year. Whether you are an individual, company, or foundation, there are many ways to contribute to the Nelson-Atkins.
- Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion. Recurring gifts are greatly appreciated.
- Community Impact Fund: The museum’s Community Impact Fund supports enriching programs that serve all ages, including tours for school groups, family art experiences, adult education, and more.
- Program Support: Program support provides funding for exhibitions, school tours, conservation and the Spencer Art Reference Library.
- Endowment: As an institution that relies almost entirely on private support, a strong endowment will secure the museum’s future and connect the next generation to the collection.
- Planned Gifts: We offer several ways to include the Nelson-Atkins in your estate planning.
- Matching Gifts: Many employers match employee donations, doubling or tripling gifts. Use our search tool to see if your company participates in a matching gift policy.

Membership has a rich history of volunteer engagement, with leadership groups that provide support in growing the membership base and stewarding existing members. The three current groups are the Society of Fellows Board, the Friends of Art Council, and the Business Council.
