The National Center for Civil and Human Rights offers flexible event spaces designed to accommodate any type of Virtual or Live event. From diversity and inclusion training, panel discussions, and board meetings to intimate and large format gatherings; The Center provides experiences unlike any other. Far more than a museum; The Center’s event spaces accent our interactive, content rich galleries, curated especially for you. The National Center for Civil and Human Rights provides a range of unique spaces to accommodate your next event. Whether you are planning a * corporate meeting or training * holiday gathering * wedding reception, or * dinner party. (EVENT TYPES include: * Private – Takes place entirely at The Center * Virtual – An interactive event taking place online only * Hybrid – Takes place both at The Center and virtually, and * March/Rally – Advance permission is required to hold your rally/march on The Center property.)

- Women’s Solidarity Society: Launched in 2010, the Women’s Solidarity Society engages women both locally and nationally who are interested in contributing to programming and exhibitions that focus on women’s and girls’ issues. The Center is where women and girls will learn about the continuum of gender issues, ranging from women’s suffrage and the role of women in The American Civil Rights Movement to contemporary gender-based human rights issues.
- Bayard Rustin LGBTQ Society: Honoring the advocacy and the life of Bayard Rustin, members of The Bayard Rustin’s LGBTQ Leadership Society enhances the network of minds leading serious conversations to advance LGBTQ equity. An annual contribution of $1,000 to $2,500 further critical research and education focused on the LGBTQ life in the American South.
Center Expansion: Fulfilling Our Founders’ Vision: The Center is expanding to realize our founders’ vision of becoming a nationally recognized educator and convener for civil and human rights. We are building two new wings to serve our community as a museum and cultural hub that preserves the truth of history and inspires changemakers to protect rights.

- Advocacy Academy: teaches sophisticated rights campaign techniques to students and grassroots NGOs, utilizing our exhibitions as case studies.
- Leadership Trainings: provide opportunities for experiences and conversation on diversity and inclusion in the workplace and training for law enforcement officials on their role as civil rights defenders.
- Operation Inspiration: students from underserved communities face financial and logistical challenges in organizing trips to The Center. Committed to removing the economic barriers that prevented in-need students from visiting, we raised a reserve fund, designated as Operation Inspiration, to underwrite admission for in-need students.
- Power to Inspire: this fundraiser is the single largest gathering of The Center’s community each year. At this event, we celebrate individuals who have made a significant impact to protect the rights of others. Past honorees have included leaders, activists and scholars such as Joe Biden (after his Vice Presidency); Ted Turner; Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.; The King Center; Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams; and the Honorable Shirley Franklin.
Volunteer: Become a volunteer at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The roles range from Docent to Brand Ambassador.
