Guests entering the Museum from Fifth Avenue step into the beautiful Rotunda, the highlight of our grand Georgian-style mansion. A stunning floating marble staircase leads to the second floor where a reception hall, complete with French doors, overlooks Central Park. The front courtyard and back terrace are delightful in the summer months and can be tented in any season. For weddings, the Museum’s distinguished, wood-paneled boardroom serves as a wedding suite available for your use throughout the day and evening. Six distinctive rental spaces are offered:
- Fifth Avenue Terrace: The iconic Fifth Avenue Terrace serves as the Museum’s Fifth Avenue entrance. It is situated across from Central Park’s Conservatory Gardens. The facade of the Museum’s landmark building provides an elegant backdrop for any evening.
- Capacity: Cocktail reception – 450 guests; Seated dinner – 225 guests
- The Rotunda: The Rotunda is the main entrance to the Museum, boasting a floating marble staircase and the striking Starlight chandelier, with the adjacent North & South Wings.
- Capacity: Cocktail reception – 250 guests
- The Marble Court: The Marble Court is situated on the second floor overlooking Central Park and directly up the Museum’s sweeping marble staircase. It features three floor-to-ceiling French doors and the Starlight Chandelier providing a memorable backdrop.
- Capacity: Cocktail reception – 250 guests; Seated dinner – 210 guests
- The South Terrace: The South Terrace is a rarity in New York City – an elevated and private terrace. It faces the beautiful landmarked exterior of the New York Academy of Medicine and houses a brick and marble loggia. With a clear top tent, guests get to dine under the stars.
- Capacity: Cocktail reception – 225 guests; Seated dinner – 225 guests; Dinner & dancing – 175 guests.
- The Bruno A. Quinson Room: The Bruno A. Quinson Room located on the Museum’s third floor is a distinguished wood-paneled library with a western exposure of Central Park. It is a flexible space used for purposes as varied as a boardroom to a wedding suite.
- Capacity: Theater style – 50 guests; Cocktail reception – 45 guests; Seated dinner – 30 guests
- The Ronay Menschel Hall: The Ronay Menschel Hall is a newly renovated, flexible function room. This fully equipped facility features an ample stage, a green room, and a cutting-edge AV booth.
- Capacity: Theater style – 200 guests; Cocktail reception – 200 guests; Seated dinner – 140 guests
