Your guests can experience the exhibition galleries, and see the cinematic reveal of General George Washington’s War Tent, while enjoying an innovative menu crafted by our exclusive caterer, Brûlée Catering. Event spaces include:

  • Ground Floor Rotunda: The Museum lobby provides an attractive welcome for guests entering the Robert A.M. Stern Rotunda with its vaulted ceiling and stone clad walls and floors; while the Grand Staircase shines as the most distinctive architectural feature of the ground level providing a dramatic pathway from both above and below — whether setting the scene for the guest-of-honor’s entrance or leading guests to pre-reception space.
  • Liberty Hall: Located on the third floor, Liberty Hall is a beautifully proportioned, handsomely finished, versatile space available for both daytime and evening rental. Envision a formal dinner, scholarly panel discussion, festive reception or more in this naturally lit space offering striking views of Historic Philly from the connecting open-air terrace.
  • Founders Boardroom: The state-of-the-art boardroom with built-in A/V capabilities is available for business meetings or can be transformed into a lounge setting for pre-function space in conjunction with the adjacent outdoor terrace.
  • Bank of America Terrace: The open-air terrace provides a dramatic overlook to the Museum‘s plaza, while its striking veranda columns frame panoramic views of Independence National Historic Park and the First Bank of the United States. The Terrace offers a seamless transition into receptions through towering double doors leading to Liberty Hall.
  • Patriots Gallery: Patriots Gallery features 5,000 sq ft of flexible space to accommodate large capacity events. When not in use showcasing short-term exhibits, the gallery is available for private event rental and can also be subdivided to host concurrent event programming.
  • Cross Keys Café: During museum hours, Cross Keys Café welcomes both guests and locals to enjoy Brûlée’s colonial-era inspired menu, made-to-order barista offerings and seasonal outdoor seating. The modern bistro which includes patio space on Third Street is also available to rent for private events.
  • Lenfest Myer Theater: The Lenfest Myer main theater is suited for after-hour use. The Theater has an expansive, sloped-floor with tiered seating. It is outfitted with a digital projector, surround sound audio system and theatrical lighting technology that can be adapted for illustrated presentations, lectures and meetings.
  • Oneida Indian Nation Atrium: The Oneida Indian Nation Atrium offers an ideal space for cocktail receptions on the main exhibition level — where the option to add on an exhibit experience makes for seamless entertaining. In the Alan B. Miller Theater, a dramatic presentation reveals one of the most iconic surviving artifacts of the Revolution – General George Washington’s Headquarters Tent.
