As a VENUE: Host your event…

MoAD is a beautiful, unique place to hold your special event. Located inside the five-star St. Regis Tower complex, the museum is ideal for gatherings such as: * weddings/receptions * company/corporate meetings/events * product launches * cocktail receptions * holiday parties * film screenings * play readings/small performances * award ceremonies * recitals * lectures * presentations, and * fundraising events. Rental fees support MoAD’s public programs, education programs, and fund our distinctive exhibitions. Each event is uniquely constructed and pricing is dependent on time, day, scope of the event, and the extent to which different areas are activated. Each space varies in size, aesthetic and AV set-up. Food and beverage is allowed in all rentable spaces. MoAD has a catering preparation space, but does not have a kitchen. Use of our preferred caterers is encouraged. Four distinctive spaces are available:

  • 1st Floor Lobby (up to 125 people standing, 50 seated)
  • 2nd Floor Salon (up to 60-80 seated theater-style, 100 standing)
  • 3rd Floor Conference Room (20 seated)
  • Freedom Theater (video screening room seating up to 23 people)

Donations

Your tax deductible contribution will help the Museum build a sustainable future and continue our important work of showcasing the art, culture and heritage of the African Diaspora.

  • Donations at specified levels are designated: * MoADmirer * SupporterAssociate * Docent * Collector * Curator, or you may customize your gift. Recurring gifts are encouraged. Memorial and Tribute gifts are welcomed.
  • Checks: To make a cash contribution, please follow instructions on MoAD‘s website
  • Credit Cards: Make a contribution directly and securely with a major credit card through the MoAD website or over the phone. Please contact our Development Department.
  • Matching Gifts: Many companies match their employees’ gifts to qualified arts organizations. Please obtain a matching gift form from your employer and send the completed form to: Museum of the African Diaspora; Attn: Development Department; 685 Mission Street; San Francisco, CA 94105
  • Pledges: A multi-year pledge may allow you to make a larger contribution and pay it over a period of several years, thereby extending the tax benefits over the entire pledge period. To make a multi-year pledge, please contact our Development Department.
  • Stock and Real Estate Options: When you transfer appreciated securities or real estate to MoAD as a charitable contribution, you get an income tax deduction for the full appreciated value of the asset and avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation.To make a gift of stock or real estate, please contact the Development Department.
  • Planned Giving: A bequest to the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) is a simple and convenient way to provide important support for the Museum’s mission.  A bequest can be made in a specific amount; or a percentage of your estate; or for all or a portion of what remains.
