Celebrate Magical Events that Give Back. When you choose the Museum at Prairiefire, you are giving back to the community because your venue rental fee supports underserved children in Kansas City through KC Urban Advantage. Inspiring spaces. Meaningful experiences. Special moments. From weddings and family celebrations to charity galas and corporate gatherings, we are excited to provide a stunning backdrop for your one-of-a-kind event. Six distinctive rental spaces are offered:
- The Great Hall: The Great Hall is ideal for: * large parties * lectures * corporate events * weddings, and * receptions. Rental of this space includes access to our Great Hall exhibits and some interactive experiences.
- Capacity: 300 seated
- The Exhibition Hall: Open the Exhibition Hall to your guests and tour an exhibition curated by renowned museums and cultural institutions. Tours are based on availability. No food or drink permitted inside the Exhibition Hall.
- Capacity: 200
- The Discovery Room: Open the Discovery Room to your guests and enjoy a hands-on learning experience where you can smell the moon, visit our animal friends, and build a dinosaur. Visits to the Discovery Room are based on availability. No food or drink permitted.
- Capacity: 80
- Innovation Zone & Wetlands Terrace: This outdoor patio space is included with rental of the Great Hall, but is also available on its own included and included with the Innovation Zone (Inside the Museum just off the Wetlands Terrace). It provides a great space for: * ceremonies * cocktail hours * extra seating, or simply an * extension of your event.
- Capacity: 185
- Boardroom: Bring your business meeting somewhere new to spark creativity or host your guests off-campus to show the sights of your local community attractions. Our private board room is ideal for small-scale meetings seated around a large, beautiful board table.
- Capacity: 16 seated
- Classrooms: Our classroom space can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit your needs. We have two classrooms, A & B, which can be combined for a larger space. We’ll work with you to construct the perfect layout and set up, from classroom, to meetings, and even meals. The upper level and balcony are the perfect spot for a cocktail happy hour after a day of meetings.

As a Member of the Museum at Prairiefire, you are supporting the Mission of the Museum, including important initiatives such as KC Urban Advantage which supports STEAM learning experiences for Kansas City’s most underserved children. Membership at specified levels is offered: Friends & Family * Educator * and Student.

School Membership: Early childhood learning is best when it’s fun, active, and safe! With an annual MAP School Membership, our Education Team introduces children to diverse STEAM topics through our Little Explorers Club. This is a hands-on, play-based discovery of the natural world. Children lead with their inquiry, facilitated by trained scientists and early childhood educators. The best part? We come to you, at your school.
