Annual Fund: Support from the community, in the form of donations large and small, makes possible all the work we do to live into our mission of engaging Mississippians in the visual arts. Your contribution helps to make the Museum more accessible to all.

Tribute or Memorial: Honor someone special with a tribute gift to the Museum. Memorialize a loved one and express your sympathy with a donation. The Museum will notify the designee of your special recognition.

Gifts of Stock: Giving appreciated securities, such as stocks and mutual funds, is a wonderful way to support the Museum.

Matching Gifts: If your company offers a matching charitable gift program, you can double the impact of your donation to the Museum. Just send the matching gift paperwork from your employer with your contribution.

Endowment: A gift to the endowment is one of the most lasting contributions you can make to the Museum.

Planned Giving: Establish a planned gift to leave a lasting legacy of support. Options include a bequest, life income gift, charitable lead trust, or even a life insurance policy.

Stock Gift: Making a stock gift to the Mississippi Museum of Art is a simple and effective way to play a crucial role in sustaining our vision to inspire and engage diverse audiences through the discovery, enjoyment, and advancement of the visual arts, while potentially providing you with significant tax benefits.

Gifts of Art: The Mississippi Museum of Art began as the Mississippi Art Association, established in 1911 with a small collection of paintings, and it is only through the generosity of the art-collecting community that the Museum has continued to build the outstanding collection it has today.

Corporate Sponsorship:

  • Corporate Partners: Over the years, many local and statewide business communities have generously supported some of the Museum’s most important initiatives – including the capital campaign and subsequent Art Garden expansion, special exhibitions, educational outreach, public programming, and so much more. Today, our corporate partners sponsor programs like Tuesday’s Free Student Admission, the Center for Art & Public Exchange, and Museum After Hours. We are deeply grateful for their investment in our work and the meaningful impact it has on our Jackson communities and beyond.
  • Become a Sponsor: In addition to providing essential support for the Museum – and a positive economic and cultural impact on the city of Jackson – corporate partners gain valued recognition for their companies. They also receive a host of special benefits and opportunities, many of which can be tailored to meet the company’s marketing and branding objectives.

Affinity Circles: Want to gain further knowledge of, and engagement with, various areas of the Mississippi Museum of Art? Consider joining an Affinity Circle. MMA currently offers three unique groups, each contributing to a specific focus of the Museum through annual dues. This support allows for art and garden enthusiasts to join us for meaningful learning experiences that not only engage our community but make a difference at MMA. Offerings in each group include:

  • CAPE Circle: MMA’s Center for Art & Public Exchange (CAPE) Circle invites anyone interested in engaging with artists and experts from diverse disciplines to discuss social justice issues while supporting the Museum’s CAPE artists-in-residence & acquisitions by BIPOC artists.
  • Collectors Circle: MMA’s Collectors Circle invites new and experienced art collectors and art enthusiasts to explore artist studios, private collections, and regional galleries with MMA’s curatorial team while supporting the Museum’s acquisitions fund.
  • Garden Circle:  MMA’s Garden Circle invites all levels of gardeners and gardening enthusiasts to join us in supporting the Museum’s gardens.

Support Groups:

  • Community Advisory Council: The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is a pilot program of the Mississippi Museum of Art and invites members of our community to be thought partners in all aspects of Museum organization and planning. The goal of the CAC is to help the Museum examine its approach to exhibitions, programming, and community engagement by offering feedback, ideas for collaborative opportunities, and awareness of the desires of local communities. The Council is currently comprised of 32 community members diverse in age, occupation, race, and gender.
  • Gallery Guild: Founded in 1965, the Gallery Guild promotes the visual arts through lectures, programs and supports acquisitions of the Mississippi Museum of Art. There are two programs a year, in the Fall and the Spring. The Guild has sponsored widely recognized lecturers to speak to its members and guests.
  • National Advisory Council: CAPE will convene a group of thought leaders, scholars, and artists, whose work aligns with the overarching goals of CAPE, to discuss best practices, current developments in the field, and identify trends that affect art practice and civic engagement. This National Advisory Council will serve as an evaluation tool, helping the Museum remain at the forefront of conversations around visual art, civil rights, and racial justice.
