The Milwaukee Art Museum provides beautiful event spaces that inspire! Breathtaking lake views, the ultimate in grand halls, a spacious auditorium, a lavish boardroom suite, and more. Architecture, art, and exceptional service: the Museum is the perfect place for: * celebrations * special events, or * meetings. The Museum has a full-time support staff to plan and execute your event, and catering is available on-site through Café Calatrava Catering. Six distinctive rental spaces are offered:

• Quadracci Pavilion: The iconic, Santiago Calatrava–designed building addition includes a grand hall, two smaller meeting rooms, an auditorium, and two long gallerias. Reserve the entire pavilion, or rent one of the smaller spaces within it.
  • Over 25,000 square feet of event space, excluding Lubar Auditorium
  • Capacity: up to 1,000 people
• Schroeder & Baumgartner Gallerias: With stunning architectural details, the Museum’s two gallerias are great venues for holiday parties, banquets, small exhibitions, fundraising receptions, and even fashion shows.
  • 8,000 square feet in gathering space
  • Capacity: 300 people; 125 people seated
• Museum Café: Museum Café is both the Museum’s daily dining spot and a desirable rental space, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and a lakeside view.
  • Over 1,200 square feet
  • Capacity: 125 people; 85 people seated
• Baumgartner Terrace: Located on the building’s south end, this spacious outdoor terrace features views of the Museum’s iconic exterior, the Cudahy Gardens, Lake Michigan, and downtown Milwaukee.
  • 5,100 square feet of gathering space
  • Capacity: 300 people; 125 people seated
• Lubar Auditorium: The Museum’s on-site auditorium offers an elegant audio-visual experience, as well as comfortable, tiered seating for up to 265 guests.
• Windhover Hall: The illustrious, grand reception hall, located within the Quadracci Pavilion, is the Museum’s single largest rental space.

The café celebrates local flavors and features fresh ingredients from nearby partners, including Valentine Coffee Roasters. Valentine brings its coffee expertise to the Museum with an exclusive specialty roast and a full menu of barista drinks. Volunteer: The Milwaukee Art Museum offers a variety of rewarding opportunities to support the Museum as a volunteer, whether you are a student or a retired professional. The Museum’s volunteer program is diverse and flexible, ranging from one-time special events to regular, twice-monthly shifts. Various departments may have specific, temporary needs, while Member and Visitor Services always welcomes the extra help with serving the Museum’s nearly 400,000 annual visitors. The role of the volunteer is to support and enrich the visitor experience.

Docents: The dedicated corps of well-trained volunteer docents continues to be one of the Museum’s most valuable resources. Docents lead thousands of visitors – children and adults – on group tours through the Museum’s galleries each year. Tours can be tailored to school, special interest, and professional groups. The ongoing docent-training program is much like an ongoing art education class, where you will continue to learn and grow. The most important qualities you need to become a docent are a love of art and people, and the ability to commit a significant amount of time.
