Vision Statement

International Book Project envisions a world where every person has access to books.

Core Values

  • Access for All – We are committed to breaking down barriers so that everyone, regardless of geography or circumstance, can share in the gift of knowledge. By giving books a second life – through reuse, redistribution, and reimagined purpose – we extend the reach of learning and ensure that knowledge continues to circulate where it’s needed most.
  • Literacy as Empowerment – We believe books are powerful tools that spark learning, expand opportunity, and transform lives.
  • Strength in Partnerships – We build lasting connections with donors, volunteers, and domestic and global partners – amplifying impact by carefully curating book shipments to give books a second life.
  • Integrity in Action – We hold ourselves accountable to honesty, transparency, and respect in every decision and relationship.
  • Commitment to Community – We strengthen communities through programs that ensure our impact is felt close to home as well as around the world.

  • Birthday Fundraisers: You can choose International Book Project for your Facebook birthday fundraiser! Any and all funds raised are appreciated.
  • Kroger Community Rewards: Did you know that you can raise funds for International Book Project while shopping for groceries? Kroger’s Community Rewards program donates a portion of each purchase made with your Kroger Shopper’s Card to a nonprofit of your choice! Signing up is completely free and easy. To sign up, log in to your Kroger account and select the menu tab “Community Rewards”. You can search for International Book Project by name or by organization number BK117. IBP receives quarterly disbursements of funds from Kroger at no further effort from you!
  • Volunteer: International Book Project is a small organization doing big things! With a staff of four, IBP depends on the hard work and steadfast commitment of its volunteers.
    • Sorting books in the warehouse – Volunteers sort books and organize the warehouse. We operate more efficiently when our warehouse is organized. We receive donations of books five days a week, ensuring there’s always something for volunteers to do.
    • Packing books – IBP sends multiple sea containers per year. Most of these containers are packed and shipped directly from our warehouse. IBP’s volunteers organize, record, and box the 10,000-20,000 books necessary to fill just one container.
    • Organizing a Book Drive or Event IBP values innovative ways to raise funds and awareness for our mission. Many groups hold book or fundraising drives or carry out service projects. We would be happy to provide informational materials to help you get started!
