  • Name a Seat: Over the last 50 years, the Everson Museum of Art’s auditorium has hosted thousands of presentations by world class artists, filmmakers, performers, and scholars. It has served as a community gathering place and home for curious minds. Now, our renovated auditorium is ready to welcome thousands more! Visibly express your commitment to the arts with an engraved brass plate affixed to a new auditorium seat. More Than A Seat gifts can feature your name, a special message, or a dedication in honor of someone special. With 275 seats distributed across three sections—$1000, $500, and $250—seats are available for naming on a first come, first served basis. A one-time donation secures your seat for ten years, and your contribution is fully tax deductible.
  • Planned Giving: Make the Everson a part of your long-term financial plans in a way that is beneficial to you and your family, while having a meaningful impact on the Museum in the future. Whether you choose a simple bequest, naming the Everson as a beneficiary in your will, or another estate planning tool, you can be assured that your gift will help sustain the Museum today, and for future generations. We’d be delighted to meet with you to discuss your legacy goals, and assist in selecting the most meaningful gift option(s). Funds may be designated as “unrestricted,” supporting general operations, or specified as support for Everson programs, exhibitions, collections, or Endowment.
  • Educational Programming Sponsorship: The Everson Museum serves over 30 school districts and 8,000 students each year, with over 1,500 of those students coming from the Syracuse City School District. Sponsors can underwrite scholarships, docent training, school trips, or free family programs so that the Everson can continue providing transformational art experiences to all.
  • Event Sponsorship: Many of our most popular fundraising events, like the Annual Picnic and 60/60, are underwritten by generous sponsors.
  • Exhibition Sponsorship: Sponsor a specific exhibition!
  • Festival of Trees Sponsorship: Our most popular fundraiser of the year is a great opportunity to get your name out to thousands of local families.

Volunteer: For a rewarding volunteer experience in a beautiful setting, become a volunteer at the Everson Museum of Art, one of Central New York’s most treasured cultural organizations. Volunteer opportunities abound at the Everson. Positions include staffing the Museum Shop; greeting visitors at the visitor services desk; working in the administrative office answering phones and assisting with mailings and other projects; and serving on special event committees organized by the Members’ Council, such as the Trip Committee and Festival of Trees Committee.

Docents: Thousands of people participate in informative and educational tours through the Everson Museum’s galleries each year thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers called docents. Docents appreciate art, learning and teaching, and are energized by the enthusiasm of students and adults responding to works of art in the museum.

Members’ Council: Members’ Council is an energetic group of volunteers who are active ambassadors for the Everson. Volunteering with the Everson Members’ Council is a gratifying experience in a beautiful setting where friendships are formed. Members share their time and talents by contributing to the Museum’s mission to engage, inspire, and activate the community. Volunteering is hands on, interactive, and best of all, it’s fun!
