The options for event spaces are ideal for a variety of uses—from corporate business meetings or intimate dinners to sumptuous galas and every special event in between, your guests will walk away with a memorable experience. Our event spaces can accommodate parties for an intimate group or up to 1,000 guests and our in-house caterer offers a wide variety of options to delight your guests.  By choosing to book your event at the Denver Art Museum, you will be supporting our mission – to enrich the lives of present and future generations through the acquisition, presentation, and preservation of works of art. Twelve distinctive spaces are available:

  • Frederic C. Hamilton Building:  The Hamilton Building’s iconic Daniel Libeskind-designed architecture is adaptable to events of all formats and scale. It offers easy access to our extraordinary exhibitions like Star Wars and the Power of Costume, Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature, and Dior: From Paris to the World to name a few.
  • El Pomar Atrium:  Sloping walls, beautiful black granite floors, a magnificent staircase, and access to a patio on tree-lined Martin Plaza make the atrium an ideal location for weddings or receptions. Featuring modern and contemporary art by Shantell Martin, ENGI by Tatsuo Miyajima, and Jenny Holzer.
  • Level 2 Atrium:  A mid-size event space directly outside the level two galleries along with the Newman Overlook provides a stunning view of the striking architecture and staircases of the El Pomar Grand Atrium in a more intimate setting. Precourt features an ever-changing art exhibition.
  • Congdon Boardroom:  The Congdon Boardroom provides an elegant setting for meetings and events. The room is beautifully decorated with bold, modern artwork by Alexander Calder complimented by a neutral color scheme. Located in the Lower Level.
  • Sharp Auditorium:  Our auditorium provides a dynamic touch for corporate meetings, keynote addresses, or lectures. Includes use of the auditorium lobby for check-in or receptions. Located in the Lower Level.
  • Lanny and Sharon Martin Building:  In 1971, the museum opened what is now known as the Martin Building, designed by Italian architect Gio Ponti. The seven-story structure, 210,000-square-foot building just underwent a multi-year renovation. This architectural icon remains the only completed project in the United States by this important Italian master of modern design.
  • Anna and John J. Sie Welcome Center:  The Sie Welcome Center reorients the Martin Building’s main entrance toward the Hamilton Building, creating a new, central point of entry for the museum. With 50,000 square feet on three levels, it is a significant addition, which will feature visitor-centric amenities such as a restaurant – The Ponti, Café Gio, improved wayfinding, along with dynamic and flexible program spaces and a state-of-the art event hall, Sturm Grand Pavilion.
  • Sturm Grand Pavilion:  The Sturm Grand Pavilion, on the second level of the Sie Welcome Center, is enclosed in a fluted glass façade that provides sweeping views of downtown and nearby architectural gems, including the Martin and Hamilton Buildings, for your gala, wedding, or large reception. (Before-museum hours pricing is available for breakfast meetings.)
  • South Sturm Pavilion:  Partitions separate South Sturm for a private space, perfect for luncheons or meetings offering a large circular space.
  • Garden Room with Access to Terrace and Prow:  Please note the Terrace and Prow cannot be rented without also renting the Garden Room.
  • Kemper Courtyard:  A beautiful, multi-tiered outdoor space with landscaped trees and lighted paths. Featuring Deborah Butterfield sculptures and an oval amphitheater. Available for after hours rental only.
  • The Ponti Restaurant, Private Dining Room:  The Ponti will combine art and dining, presenting a locally-sourced and inspired menu with high standards of sustainability. • Collectors’ Groups: The Denver Art Museum works with small groups of collectors and patrons to thoughtfully build the permanent collection through new acquisitions of art. These special groups become deeply connected to the department they support, gaining special insight into the curator’s collecting strategy and development of future exhibitions. • Matching Gifts: Through corporate gift matching, your support can have double or triple the impact on the Denver Art Museum’s exhibitions and programs.
  • Legacy Giving: The Denver Art Museum’s mission is to enrich the lives of present and future generations through art. If you are passionate about bringing inspiration and creativity to our community, we encourage you to help sustain the museum for years to come through a planned gift. By doing so, you are recognized as a member of the Helen Dill Society with our gratitude today for your future impact! Helen Dill Society: In 1932, the bequest of a schoolteacher named Helen Dill enabled the museum to establish a transformational fund which led the acquisition of art that was transformational for the museum, allowing for the purchase of works like The Water Lily Pond by Monet and Summer by Arcimboldo. The Helen Dill Society honors those who continue her commitment with a bequest or other estate plan benefiting the Denver Art Museum. Members enjoy an annual recognition event, estate planning information, and recognition in our annual report. Become a member of the Helen Dill Society by supporting the museum in your estate plans.
    • Bequests: The simplest way to make a planned gift is through a bequest in your will. Undesignated bequests allow the museum to use the funds where they are most needed. Please talk with us if you are interested in directing a bequest to support a specific fund or to endow a specific program or art collection.
    • Retirement Plan Assets and IRAs: Bequeathing retirement assets to the museum allows you to fulfill your charitable objectives while preserving more of your estate’s value for family members. Designating the museum as the beneficiary of your retirement account or IRA may help your estate bypass multi-tier tax exposures, preserve the value of your estate, and protect your heirs from potential tax burdens.
    • Life Insurance: Giving a life insurance policy is a great way to transform a modest gift into a dramatic one. You can transfer ownership of a fully paid policy to the museum, reassign ownership and beneficiary status for a policy on which premiums are still being paid, or establish a new policy and designate the museum as applicant, owner, and beneficiary.
    • Charitable Gift Annuities: Charitable gift annuities provide beneficiaries with a fixed income for life in exchange for a gift of cash or marketable securities to the museum. The rates of return are generally higher than those from savings or money market accounts, and you can choose whether to receive income immediately or wait until retirement.
    • Charitable Remainder Trusts: Contribute to the future of the museum, secure lifetime annual payments for yourself and/or other beneficiaries, and generate substantial tax benefits with a charitable remainder trust. A trust of this kind provides beneficiaries with income for life or a specified length of time and then distributes the remaining assets to the museum. An income tax deduction is available immediately.
    • Charitable Lead Trusts: With a charitable lead trust, you make a significant multi-year gift to the museum and maximize the value of assets for your heirs. This type of trust pays an annual amount to the museum, with the assets ultimately passing on to another beneficiary. You can decide whether to receive an income tax deduction or pass savings on to your estate.
    • Gifts of Art: The Denver Art Museum welcomes inquiries about possible art gifts, either today or planned for the future. Because gifts of art require careful consideration, please contact us to ensure that the museum can accept your gift.
  • Fundraising Events: Uncorked is the Denver Art Museum’s spring fundraiser celebrating art, wine, and community. This festive evening is beloved for its inspired food and drink pairings and lively entertainment indoors and out. A brilliant multi-course dinner, set in the Sturm Grand Pavilion as the sun sets, is the hallmark of the event. Annual Ball with CultureHaus: Each winter, CultureHaus, along with artists, partners and patrons, get decked out for a fabulous night at the museum. This annual bash is fully exhibition-inspired, down to every fine detail—from all-night music to thematic cocktails, incredible fashion to artful activities—all in the spirit of connecting meaningfully and memorably with art and each other. Collectors’ Choice:Collectors’ Choice is the Denver Art Museum’s signature black-tie fundraising gala. Museum patrons and community leaders gather each autumn for this glamorous occasion. Luncheon by Design: Luncheon by Design has become the not-to-be-missed fundraising event drawing Denver’s design and creative community, lovers of architecture and fashion, and supporters of the architecture and design department for an exclusive presentation featuring renowned authors, scholars and designers.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: At the Denver Art Museum, we believe art has the power to forge connections, bridge differences, and transform lives. The Denver Art Museum is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. • Internship Opportunities: The museum hosts interns through the Museum Pathways Exploration Internship (PEI) program, designed for current college students and early-career professionals. This paid program provides exploratory opportunities for individuals historically underrepresented in arts and cultural fields. However, the Denver Art Museum welcomes applications from all eligible candidates, regardless of background. Through this program, a cohort of interns will come together with the opportunity for career exploration, personal development, and an opportunity to learn new skills. The intention is not to provide a career pathway specifically within the Denver Art Museum, rather to support and understand the different career pathways within a museum while developing skills necessary to pursue a career in the arts and cultural field.
