The Columbus Museum of Art, built in 1931, is on the National Register of Historic Places. It houses many famous works by the greats including Picasso, Cezanne, Monet, and Pollock. The ambiance is hard to replicate, especially with event spaces among the world-renowned art collection. Galleries with soaring ceilings, sculpture gardens, an event pavilion and other intimate spaces create a stunning backdrop for your * wedding * corporate business meeting * social gathering, or * other special event.

With striking architectural features, a world-renowned art collection, and a variety of flexible venue spaces, the museum provides an inspiring backdrop for any occasion.

  • Corporate Team BuildingColumbus Museum of Art is the perfect place to plan your next corporate team building or leadership workshop. We’re proud to partner with Just Bloom, the business education arm of Dr. Angus Fletcher’s groundbreaking research into the brain-science of creativity. As seen in Harvard Business Review and validated at the world’s top moonshot factories, Just Bloom offers award-winning workshops in leadership, innovation, and team building. Just Bloom at CMA incorporates our permanent collection into their science-backed process. The result is an engaging and immersive art-inspired experience that activates your deep brain creativity to give your organization tangible results.
  • Events at The Pizzuti: Located in the heart of the Short North Arts District, Columbus Museum of Art at The Pizzuti offers a distinctive setting for memorable corporate and social events. The venue features multiple gallery spaces and two outdoor areas, allowing for a flexible and dynamic event layout. Our Special Events team will work closely with you to tailor your vision to the unique character of the museum.

Twelve distinctive spaces are available:

  • Schottenstein Property Group Pavilion & The Atrium: Our largest event space, the Pavilion features a sleek, modern design with light wood floors, skylights, and a glass wall that fills the space with natural light. Crisp white walls offer a flexible backdrop for any event vision. Amenities include two adjacent hospitality suites, three AV projectors with screen, rigging capabilities, in-house staging, and a balcony with garden views.
    • Pavilian Capacity: Seated Dinner (300 guests); Cocktail Reception (350 guests); Theatre Style (350 guests)
    • The Atrium Capacity: Cocktail Reception (300 guests)
  • Edwards Court & The McCoy Family Broad Street Lobby: With a soaring atrium-style glass ceiling and Dale Chihuly’s vibrant Isola di San Giacomo in Palude sculpture, Edwards Court offers an inspiring setting with distinctive architectural detail. Features include two adjacent hospitality suites, access to ten permanent collection galleries, built-in speakers, and entry through the historic Broad Street Lobby.
    • Edwards Court Capacity: Seated Dinner (175 guests); Cocktail Reception (200 guests)
    • Lobby Capacity: Seated Dinner (65 guests); Cocktail Reception (75 guests)
  • Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden: This beautifully landscaped garden in the heart of downtown Columbus features The Mountain fountain by Aristide Maillol and a shaded patio. The lawn is perfect for open-air receptions and ceremonies.Please note: This space is weather-dependent and not available during museum open hours without an approved rain plan.
    • Capacity: Seated Dinner (150 guests); Ceremony/Theatre Style (250 guests); Cocktail Reception (300 guests)
  • Cardinal Health Auditorium: This formal, theater-style space offers excellent acoustics, updated AV capabilities, and overflow screening options. It’s a favorite for lectures, performances, and screenings—and features a 1929 Steinway grand piano available for rental.
    • Capacity: Seated (288 guests)
  • Loann W. Crane Forum: Intimate space perfect for luncheons, meetings, or receptions. The room showcases museum artwork, and offers projection capabilities, laptop hookups, and optional AV packages.
    • Capacity: Seated Dinner (60 guests); Cocktail Reception (75 guests); Theatre Style (75 guests)
  • American Electrical Power (AEP) Foundation Ready Room: Intimate space perfect for luncheons, meetings, or receptions. The room offers projection capabilities, laptop hookups, and optional AV packages.
    • Capacity: Seated Dinner (55 guests); Cocktail Reception (75 guests); Theatre Style (75 guests)
  • Schokko Art Café: Schokko Art Café, is a vibrant, contemporary café. The north wall of glass opens up onto the sculpture garden terrace, making this the perfect location to host network gatherings, intimate dinners, or an indoor/ outdoor reception after a day of training.
    • Capacity: Seated Dinner (60 guests); Cocktail Reception (80 guests)
  • Ralph and Joan Talmage Meeting Room: A versatile, boardroom-style gallery meeting space located near the Huntington Atrium. Features mobile tables and chairs—ideal for small presentations, meetings, or working sessions.
    • Capacity: Seated Dinner (25 guests); Cocktail Reception (35 guests)

Schokko Café: Located just inside the main entrance, the café offers a warm, contemporary setting for a relaxing meal or quick bite. Guests can dine indoors or on the patio nestled within the Patricia M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden. Open during all regular museum hours, the café serves a seasonal menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, inventive takes on modern cuisine, and comforting classics. Private Dining Experience: Hosting friends, family, or colleagues? Private dining at Columbus Museum of Art offers an intimate, shared dining experience for 6 to 20 guests. Enjoy a multi-course, family-style meal—no venue rental required. Seating is first come, first served.

Gifts of Art: Gifts of art that have been approved by CMA curators and funds for the purchase of art greatly help CMA strengthen and broaden its collection. Making a gift can also further your current and future financial and personal goals.

Docent Opportunities: Year-round docents provide museum tours to visitors of all ages. They are the primary educational outreach to students, visitors, and the Columbus community. Docent volunteers undergo an extensive five-month training period that focuses on critical thinking skills, museum education principles and practice and the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Docents agree to serve for at least two years as gallery educators following their training. They also enjoy social events as well as local and national art trips.
