With over 30,000 sq. ft. of uniquely California-themed indoor and outdoor space located one block from the State Capitol, the Museum is a history-making venue for any special event! * Conferences and Meetings * Corporate Events * Receptions and Ceremonies, and Weddings. From cultivating clients and recognizing professional successes to celebrating a personal milestone, the Museum is a versatile venue with in-house amenities including on-site catering, AV equipment and more to streamline planning your next party or meeting. Eight distinctive rental spaces are offered:

Lobby:

  • 2-story space with floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Features California Hall of Fame LCD panel display
  • Accommodates up to 200 seated and 250 standing guests
  • Approximately 1,750 sq. ft.
  • Ideal for: * receptions * seated meals * lectures * award ceremonies * banquets, and * more.
  • Accessible to and from first and second floor galleries, Mezzanine, Courtyard and restrooms in basement

Mezzanine:

  • Backdrop of California’s Remarkable Women exhibit overlooking Lobby
  • Accommodates up to 50 seated and 75 standing guests
  • Approximately 1,100 sq. ft.
  • Ideal for: * sit-down meals * cocktail parties * receptions, and * more.
  • Accessible to and from Museum Store, Lobby, first and second floor galleries, Courtyard and public restrooms in basement

Exhibits & Galleries:

  • 2 floors of diverse, uniquely California-themed spaces
  • Exhibits open to catering include California’s Remarkable Women, Health Happens Here, The Hall of Promise, and more.
  • Accommodates up to 250 seated and 300 standing guests
  • Accessible to and from the Lobby and Mezzanine
  • Ideal for: * receptions * weddings * sit-down meals * presentations, and more.

Courtyard: 

  • Outdoor space featuring Sacramento’s largest piece of public art, Constitution Wall, a 6-story interpretation of California’s constitution
  • Approximately 5,600 square feet of outdoor space
  • Accommodates up to 375 seated dining guests, 400 seated theater-style, or 500 standing guests
  • Ideal for: * receptions * on-stage productions * weddings * sit-down meals * fairs * presentations, and * more.
  • Multiple spaces on 3 floors, including elevated stage and balcony levels
  • Accessible to and from the Museum lobby, Auditorium, Rotunda, O Street and 11th Street
  • Available weekdays after 5:00 pm and weekends*

Auditorium:

  • A/V equipment including projector with PC or Mac laptop connection, sound system, Blu Ray and DVD players
  • Raised stage with stationary lectern/podium
  • Accommodates up to 254 seated guests
  • Wheelchair-accessible seating
  • Accessible to and from Courtyard and Rotunda
  • Ideal for: * multimedia presentations * lectures * film screenings,  and * more.
  • Available weekdays after 5:00 pm and weekends

Rotunda:

  • Accessible to and from Auditorium and Courtyard
  • Ideal for: * receptions * cocktail parties, and * more.
  • Available weekdays after 5:00 pm and weekends

Conference Room:

  • Built-in A/V equipment for multimedia presentations with Mac and PC laptop connection
  • Attached kitchenette including refrigerator and staging area for catering
  • Approximately 1,200 sq. ft.
  • Accommodates up to 49 seated guests
  • Smaller rooms for 10 to 50 guests also available
  • Ideal for: * presentations * work shops * press conferences * meetings * seminars, and * more.

Classroom:

  • A/V equipment for multimedia presentations with Mac and PC laptop connection
  • Seaing for up to 120 guests
  • Approximately 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Accommodates up to 120 seated guests
  • Ideal for: * workshops * lectures * retreats * meetings * seminars, and * more.
