  • Sponsorship: As a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational and charitable organization, BAM depends on the generosity of its many sponsors to create visual arts experiences, engage people, and inspire learning through exceptional exhibitions, collections, and educational opportunities. Below are some ways that you or your organization can sponsor the Museum and make a positive difference in the cultural life of our community.
    • Special Events: Special events connect people with the Museum and promote the importance of the visual arts in our lives. From Art in the Park, BAM’s signature outdoor art festival, to our Annual Gala, BAM events help strengthen the economic and cultural health of our community.
    • Community & Education Programs: The Museum’s education programs are a bridge – a welcoming walkway to connect our visitors to BAM’s exceptional exhibitions. There is a bridge tailor-made for every visitor – first timers, long-time members, teachers, children, and partners. BAM’s hallmark is the vibrant, entertaining, and endlessly inventive educational programs that engage participants with the original works of art on display. Lectures, school tours, outreach, hands-on studio programs, and demonstrations are among the many educational programs available for sponsorship.
    • Exhibitions: BAM’s exhibitions are the basis of everything we do. Works by significant artists in history, cultural artifacts, cutting edge contemporary installations, and outstanding artworks by Idaho artists – all can be found at BAM. The experience of viewing original works of art cannot be replicated by looking at art books, digital images or facsimiles. Exhibition sponsorship opportunities range from $2,500 to $100,000. Exhibition sponsors receive significant recognition and marketing exposure.
    • BAM Corporate Circle: BAM Corporate Circle provides our corporate partners with the opportunity to financially support BAM’s exhibitions, educational programs, and operations while enjoying customized sponsorship benefits.
  • Planned Giving: Planned gifts represent your life’s work and reflect your values. A planned gift communicates your legacy; it tells a story of what you hold most important in your life and community. Planned giving makes it possible for you to make a generous contribution while preserving or even enhancing your lifestyle. The 1937 Circle recognizes those who have chosen to support the Boise Art Museum through their wills, estate plans, life income arrangements, and major planned gifts. Contributions received as a result of charitable planning help build for the future by supporting the programs and activities of the Museum in perpetuity.
  • Gifts to the Endowment: The Endowment Fund of the Boise Art Museum was established in 1982 to help sustain the organization in perpetuity. Gifts to the Endowment Fund support the Museum’s artistic and financial vitality into the future. A donation to the Endowment Fund may be made at any time, and in any amount.
  • Collectors Forum: BAM offers a unique opportunity to support the Museum’s Permanent Collection while gaining insight into the visual arts with like-minded individuals. Members learn about the ever-changing world of art and meet new friends. BAM members at the Advocate level ($125) and above are eligible to join Collectors Forum (CF). BAM offers three membership options: * Contemporary Art Circle * Northwest Art Circle, and * American Art Circle – each of which supports BAM’s Permanent Collection in a unique way.

Docents: BAM docents are volunteers at the Boise Art Museum who engage visitors of all ages with art through a variety of educational experiences. The core function of BAM docents is facilitating BAM’s Free School Tour Program by providing guided tours for pre-school, elementary, junior high, and high school students. Docents also play a role during monthly programs, sharing information about BAM’s collections and exhibitions with visitors. Docent training sessions cover specific information about BAM’s collections and exhibitions, as well as Museum philosophies, best practices, teaching methods, and tour techniques. BAM’s active docent training program engages volunteers in the learning process and cultivates knowledgeable, experienced volunteers.
