A daytime version of the acclaimed French Bistro Justine’s — serving breakfast and lunch during museum hours, with dinner offered on Saturdays, when the Blanton is open late until 8:00 p.m. A prime location for museum visitors to dine and drink, including a shaded outdoor deck for al fresco dining with views of the Capitol and Austin by Ellsworth Kelly. Membership

Benefits of membership include: Free museum admission for one year, invitations to Members–only tours and exhibition previews, discounts for classes and special events, discounts at the Museum store, cafe, and the College and the University Art Museum Reciprocal Program. Membership at specified levels is offered: * Individual * Dual * Family * Sustaining * Founding * Contributor and * Patron.

Gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations directly impact the Blanton. From collection research and planning new exhibitions to developing innovative programs for the public and inspiring educational resources for students, we’re committed to connecting our diverse audiences with art and bringing joy, inspiration, and learning to their lives. Your generous contributions have and will continue to support the important role we play across campus, our community, and beyond.

  • Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. Recurring gifts are encouraged. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion. You may identify and underwrite the efforts of your choice:
    • Support thought-provoking, dynamic exhibitions that feature art from around the world, spanning mediums and time periods.
    • Enrich arts education for thousands of school children each year.
    • Enhance the educational and cultural experience of University students from across disciplines.
    • Help strengthen and care for the Blanton’s world-class collection of art.
    • In addition, making an unrestricted gift is very impactful and will help support the museum’s mission and areas of greatest need, including our team and programs.
  • Fundraising Events: Fundraising events provide an opportunity for individuals and corporations to support the Blanton while being part of major art world gatherings and some of Austin’s best and most memorable moments.
  • Business Partnerships: Our Business Partnership program gives companies an exciting way to be involved with the Blanton and help shape the future of Austin. We can guide you to the partnership level that meets your company’s marketing and community impact goals. Popular events like the Blanton Gala also offer sponsors brand recognition, special museum access, and more.
  • Major Gift Circles: Our Major Gift Circles recognize philanthropic supporters giving $10,000 or more annually who provide vital funding for the museum. These donors are also invited to engage with the Blanton through special programming, events, and other opportunities.
  • Gift Planning: Calling all art lovers! Including the Blanton in your estate plans is an important investment in the museum’s future and its commitment to excellence. Your future gift can provide unrestricted financial support for the museum or strengthen a specific area of interest, such as exhibitions, acquisitions and collection care, or education. The Mari and James A. Michener Society recognizes donors who have provided for the Blanton through a planned gift or made a provision for the museum in their estate plans.
  • Corporate Sponsorship:  A wide range of corporate sponsorship opportunities are available for exhibitions and other programs. The Blanton can tailor a sponsorship package to best meet your company’s marketing needs and community impact priorities.
  • Blanton Leadership Board: The Blanton Leadership Board brings together a distinguished group of leaders in the arts, business, and philanthropy, and includes University of Texas at Austin alumni. Board members reside in Austin and cities across the country. The Board supports all areas of the Blanton and further demonstrate their belief in the museum through fundraising and advocacy.
  • Blanton Museum Council: The Blanton Museum Council is the museum’s leading ambassadorial group, composed of committed supporters who champion the Blanton within the community and beyond. Council members strengthen the museum’s public presence by hosting events, cultivating new audiences, and serving as dynamic connectors between the Blanton and the broader cultural landscape.In partnership with museum leadership, Council members promote exhibitions, support signature programs, and help build the energy and visibility that define the Blanton.
  • Petal Society: Increase your impact and engagement through art. As part of the Petal Society, you gain access to exclusive events and opportunities to connect with the art world—in Austin and beyond— while supporting the Blanton in a meaningful way. By joining, you become part of a group that offers invaluable feedback, helping to shape and sustain the museum into the future. Three Membership levels include: * Admirer * Advocate and * Ambassador.
  • Blanton Gala: These funds enable the museum to continue fulfilling its mission as the major collecting art museum of Central Texas. One of the best ways to support this is by making an unrestricted gift in any amount.

Volunteer: If you love art, enjoy working with people–or both–this is the perfect opportunity to support Austin’s art museum! Volunteers help in invaluable ways and create a welcoming atmosphere at the museum, in addition to keeping a safe environment for visitors, staff, and volunteers. Qualifications to become a volunteer include:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Interested to help visitors and assist museum Visitor Services staff as needed.
  • Willing to answer questions or solve visitor problems in a friendly and engaging manner.
  • Accustomed to learning from and working with people of all types and opinions.
  • Able to keep an open and accessible attitude towards museum visitors.
  • In Austin on a regular basis and have 3 hours per week to support the museum.
  • Free to complete initial volunteer training within 2 months of the application date.
  • Committed to volunteering once a week or every other week for a year.

We invite UT and university students and members of the greater Austin community who are cheerful, kind, helpful, empathetic, patient, service–oriented, and want to spend time in an arts-loving community to apply. Volunteers work with other arts-interested adults and will be trained on site during their first few visits.

Gallery Teacher Program: Every two years, the Blanton recruits friendly and engaging volunteers to teach student groups of all ages in our galleries. We welcome educators with a variety of experiences and skills. Volunteer Gallery Teachers must:

  • Attend 24 hours of initial training sessions at the Blanton.
  • Attend occasional two-hour workshops on Monday mornings throughout the year.
  • Be available for teaching assignments between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at least one weekday per week (Tuesday–Sunday).
  • Make a 2-year minimum commitment (1-year contracts available for current UT students).
  • Demonstrate an ability to lead conversations on a variety of themes in art, from social issues to mindfulness.
