Donation:

Our generous donors have helped to build our website, send staff to professional development trainings, create beautiful exhibits, provide programs for children and adults, and even purchase the building in which the Ikastola now calls home. We thank you for your generosity and support in allowing us to continue to preserve, promote & perpetuate Basque history & culture.

  • Donations at any amount are appreciated.
  • Memorials/Honorariums: Giving a memorial donation to the Basque Museum or Boiseko Ikastola in memory of or in honor of a loved one is also greatly appreciated. Memorials enable the organization to continue improvements to our services and facilities to better preserve and perpetuate Basque history and culture. These contributions truly help the Museum sustain its mission.
  • Charitable Giving: Because the Basque Museum is recognized as and educational organization, your donations can go a lot farther than in other organizations.  Additional tax credits may apply.  Contact us for more information.
  • Intentional Giving: The Basque Museum & Cultural Center, along with Boiseko Ikastola relies on grants, memberships, and gifts as some of our main income. We appreciate any donation, large or small as they all significantly help us serve our mission to preserve, promote, and perpetuate Basque history and culture. Below are some ways to support the Basque Museum & Boiseko Ikastola throughout the year and long-term. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
  • Corporate Matching Gifts: Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Check with your employer.
  • Reoccurring Contributions: If you are interested in giving more often, but do not want to add another to-do item to your calendar, let us know. We can store your credit/debit card number (securely!) and run it for any amount you set at any time you prefer.
  • Event/Program/Other Sponsorships: Winefest, the benefit dinner, education programs, Ikastola, exhibits, and more include sponsorships that will not only benefit your family or organization (free/discounted tickets, special recognition, etc.), but also greatly assist the Museum and Ikastola in continuing their mission in a unique way. Contact the Museum to learn more.
  • Estate Planning: Adding a non-profit as a beneficiary to your will is always a thoughtful way of continuing your legacy for an extended period. Though these gifts are not immediate, they often assist in continuing the longevity of the organization, which is an incredibly generous way to be remembered.
  • Planned Giving: With the goal of meeting the opportunities and challenges in the years ahead, the Basque Museum & Cultural Center has created a Planned Giving Program. Your planned gift will help protect and enhance a lasting treasure that enriches lives throughout our community and far beyond. Methods of Planned Giving include: * Gifts of Appreciated Stock * Life Insurance Benefits * Will or Trust Bequests * Multi-year Pledges * Large Memorials or Honorarium * Charitable Annuities * Charitable Remainder Trusts and * Charitable Lead Trusts. The income from the long-term investment fund currently assists with:
    • the Museum’s education program by providing a staff member
    • the Collection’s program through internships
    • the Ikastola, language immersion/cultural preschool, through tuition assistance
    • repair, maintenance, and capital projects at the Basque Museum and Ikastola.

Volunteer:

Today the museum is proud to have over 50 active volunteers that help us accomplish our mission in a many different ways. Volunteering at the BMCC is a rewarding way to become involved and give back to your community. There are always many opportunities to help out at the Basque Museum & Cultural Center. We simply would not be able to do what we do without the help of volunteers and docents. In the past, volunteers have * given guided tours * helped on special projects * assisted in exhibit installation, and * ran the museum store – just to name a few.
