Be a DONOR: Show that you care…

Located in rural Tazewell County, Virginia, the Appalachian Arts & Events Center was established with the idea of creating a space where the unique mountain culture of the region, as manifested in its arts (craft, fine art, music, dance, storytelling, and writing), is celebrated, preserved, and promoted. The Center, a part of Southwest Virginia Community College, provides a cultural hub where members of the community can routinely gather for rotating exhibitions, presentations, workshops and performances, gain insight into the creative process, connect with one another, share and carry forward traditions, and discover opportunity through education.

Giving to the Appalachian Arts and Events Center is a way to support art in a rural and under-served area, and is done so via the Southwest Virginia Community College nonprofit foundation. Founded in 1981, the SWCC Educational Foundation supports the college’s mission: educating students from Buchanan, Dickenson (partial), Russell, and Tazewell Counties.
