We are currently raising funds to acquire Bulldogs of the Twentieth Century by Arthur Wardle and cannot do it without generous supporters like you!

  • Volunteer: Get involved with AKC Museum of the Dog as a volunteer! At MOD, we believe in the importance of shared creativity and interactive learning. Through this opportunity, volunteers will train as docents to encourage unique and memorable museum experiences. Volunteers assist in facilitating public and family programming that welcome new conversations around art and dogs. Volunteer candidates with fine art or education backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and of course, a love for dogs is key! Applicants should be comfortable and confident interacting with visitors. Volunteer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Act as docents leading public tours created by the Museum. Docents are encouraged to make tours their own while using the guidelines and information provided by the Museum.
    • Engage visitors in the Library and Archives by facilitating crafts and children’s activities (if they have interest in working with children).
    • Provide information about the Museum’s upcoming exhibitions, public programs, and visitor services.
    • Participate in docent orientation and workshops to improve visitor service, including exhibition walk-throughs and tour assessment.
