Membership

ACWM Members enjoy special access to the museum, events and programs at all three of our unique sites. The membership program enables us to preserve and maintain our unparalleled collection of Civil War-era artifacts, provide educational resources, scholarship, and nationally recognized exhibitions. Support the future of your history!  Your gifts ensure our mission to be the preeminent center for the exploration of the American Civil War and its legacies from multiple perspectives and establishes your legacy. Membership at specified levels is offered (3 Museums; 1 Membership): * Student * Teacher * Senior * Individual * Family * Benefactor * Patron * Cannon Society, and * 1896 Society.

Donations:

• Support the Annual Fund: Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion. Recurring gifts are greatly appreciated. Employer matched gifts are welcomed.
• Gifts of Securities: Gifts of assets, rather than cash, can be made to The American Civil War Museum and prove tax-wise to you. Giving appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds can provide special tax advantages, including avoidance of capital gains tax and, in most instances, a charitable deduction for the full fair market value. Discuss the advantages with a gift of securities with your tax advisor.
• Corporations and Foundations: Support from corporations and foundations ensures the museum engages with the larger working community today and that our work continues into the future. If you are a corporation looking to sponsor the museum’s work or a foundation who is interested in how the American Civil War Museum is changing the narrative then please get in touch.
• Planned Giving: Planned gifts provide for the future of the American Civil War Museum. These commitments ensure our mission to be the preeminent center for the exploration of the American Civil War and its legacies from multiple perspectives, and establishes your legacy.
• Donating an Artifact: The reason we have the rich collection of military and civilian artifacts is due to donations over the last 120 years, most from Civil War veterans and/or their immediate family members.
