Airlie Gardens’ history dates back to the early 1700’s. The gardens you see today are the vision of Sarah and Pembroke Jones. Since its earliest beginnings as a private garden, Airlie’s picturesque grounds have attracted guests for lavish parties and extravagant entertaining. Conveniently located near Wrightsville Beach, Airlie has remained a coastal oasis known for its formal gardens, seasonal blooms, live oaks and historic structures. Four distinctive venues include:
- Oak Lawn: Ceremony Location * Draped in Spanish moss and resurrection fern, our 500-year-old southern live oak is the focal point of our Oak Lawn.
- Bradley Creek Lawn: Ceremony or Reception Location * Overlooking Bradley Creek, the Bradley Creek Lawn creates the perfect atmosphere and water view for any ceremony or tented event. The lawn provides plenty of space for dining, entertainment and lawn games.
- Pergola Garden: Ceremony Location * The Pergola Garden is our most popular formal garden for ceremonies and photos. Full of seasonal blooms, the natural aisle leads to an extraordinary backdrop of our pergola structure and fountain.
- Minnie Evans Bottle Chapel: Ceremony or Reception Location * Our Bottle Chapel Lawn features a beautiful sculpture of colored bottles celebrating the spirit of Minnie Evans. Used only for smaller events, this lawn offers a more intimate spot for up to 150 guests.
Rental times are offered March through mid-October with availability Tuesday through Sunday. All events include additional time for setup and breakdown.

Donation
Make a donation of * cash * property * stocks and bonds, or * real property. Give a gift “In Memory Of ” or “In Honor Of “ someone special. You can also make a lasting legacy at Airlie Gardens by including us in your * Will and * Estate plans. Airlie Gardens is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit and gifts are tax-deductible. Please check with your tax adviser for additional information on deductibility. Please note that we do accept donations of * plant material, including trees.
- The Airlie Oak Fund: Help preserve and protect the beloved Airlie Oak and other tree specimens in the gardens. Donate to The Airlie Oak Fund today! Donations have allowed us to: * Prune, cable and add lightning protection * Reduce the weight of spanish moss and resurrection fern * Utilize professional resources; such as, arborists * Establish and put into practice a long-term plan to preserve and maintain our live oaks and other tree specimens.
- Matching Gifts: Did you know that there is an easy way to increase your gift to Airlie? Many companies offer Matching Gift Programs where employees or retirees can sometimes double the gift to Airlie just by filling out a form! Please make sure to check with your employer when you give a donation to Airlie. - Donation Request: As a nonprofit organization, Airlie Gardens proudly gives back to the community. Through our donation program, the Garden annually supports local nonprofit organizations’ fundraising efforts and select community events.
