Originally the Fisher Meat Packing Company, Mellwood Art Center turned a factory from 1904 into a small business incubator housing over 170 local artists and entrepreneurs, each one with their own amazing story.

As a VENUE: Host your event…

The Mellwood Art Center has five venues, perfect for any kind of event hosting 60 – 1,000 guests! We offer an open vendor policy, 18 hour rental period, and customizable spaces. With the Mellwood Art Center, you can host the event of your dreams! 

• Pigment Gallery: is perfect and affordable for smaller events, from intimate weddings and receptions to reunions and fashion shows and has a private kitchen and restrooms. The light-filled space with a charming bamboo floor has stylish character, as it’s a gallery with exhibits rotating from local artists. This space is 2,500 square feet with a small outdoor patio and accommodates 60 – 80 seated guests or 125 standing.
• Monet Room: is perfect as a small, formal event venue, featuring three large mirrors. A small bridal suite and a warming/cooling kitchen shared with the Picasso Room are also included. Direct access to the lawn can be rented for an additional fee. This 4,000 square foot space accommodates 60 – 180 seated guests or up to 225 standing.
• Picasso Room: is perfect among small-to-medium Louisville weddings and reception venues, featuring exposed brick, a large bridal room, access to a balcony, and plentiful natural lighting. A warming/cooling kitchen shared with the Monet Room is also included. Direct access to the lawn can be rented for an additional fee. This 10,000 square foot space with a 1,500 square foot balcony can accommodate 175 – 350 seated guests or up to 700 standing.
• Van Gogh Room: a classic wedding hall and large event venue with style, space and amenities, includes a built-in bar, stage, kitchen, private bride and groom suites, private restrooms, and a large decorative mirror. It can also be connected to the Da Vinci Room for larger events. This space is 12,500 square feet with a 3,900 square foot courtyard and can accommodate 175 – 650 seated guests or up to 1,200 standing.
• The Da Vinci Room: is our largest event venue, for the epic-sized weddings and events, and includes a VIP area, bridal and groom suites, kitchen, private restrooms, and indoor/outdoor bar. It can also be connected to the Van Gogh Room for huge events.This rental space includes 19,000 square feet with a 4,000 square foot partially covered patio and can accommodate 200 – 1,000 seated guests or up to 1,600 standing.
