The Strong National Museum of Play’s unique spaces and playful exhibits provide a one-of-a-kind setting for any event. Discover the museum’s six playful spaces:

  • G. Rollie Adams Atrium (Reception 200, Seated 150) Located on the first floor in the heart of the Museum’s exhibitions, the Adams Atrium is a bright, spacious area ideally suited for receptions, dinner parties, and other elegant events during non-public hours.
  • Theater Lobby (Reception 140, Seated 100) This large space on the Museum’s first floor is perfect for grazing receptions and cocktail parties during non-public hours. Three saltwater aquariums located in the space provide perfect fodder for conversation among unacquainted guests.
  • Paychex Theater (Seating 290) Located on the first floor, the Paychex Theater offers an ideal setting for corporate meetings, lectures, and large presentations. The Paychex Theater features a stage, podium, and is AV-ready for all presentation needs.
  • Toy Halls of Fame (Reception 75, Seated 50) Located on the Museum’s second floor, the Toy Halls of Fame is available during non-public hours and is ideally suited for grazing receptions, cocktail parties, and dinner parties. It features a 20-foot virtual bubble tower, Kinect motion control to play with classic toys, an oversized Etch-a-Sketch for a virtual portrait that can be shared with friends and family, and more, along with proximity to other second-floor exhibits that can be added to an event.
  • Pixel Landing (Reception 75, Seated 50) Located on the Museum’s second floor, Pixel Landing is available during non-public hours and is ideally suited for grazing receptions, cocktail parties, and dinner parties. The landing is close to the Museum’s newest exhibits, Level Up and High Score, and it features dramatic, high ceilings and tall windows.
  • Individual Exhibits: Individual exhibits can be added to any package—including the Ralph Wilson Skyline Climb and Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden. The most popular choice? Infinity Arcade, a celebration of the arcade era, with dozens of playable games sure to provide a trip down memory lane.
  • Entire Museum! Looking to really wow your guests? The entire museum can be rented with more than 140,000 square feet of exciting exhibit spaces.

A museum host will be assigned to every party to assist with all party needs. Corporate Partner members may qualify for waived or discounted rental fees.

Donations above and beyond membership dues help the museum develop the exhibits, programs, activities, and events that make The Strong a national treasure and a community cornerstone. Donations at specified amounts are designated and you may customize your gifts. Memorial and Tribute gifts are welcomed. Donation to Generation 2 (G2): All donations are used to promote and support training and activities that build relationships and to enhance the capacity of the G2 programs. Every little bit helps our children do better in school, build strong relationships, and be ready for college, work and life! You can make a difference with your donation!
  • Annual gifts from members and friends of The Strong help to provide free museum access for thousands of Rochester-area children and families who might otherwise not have an opportunity to experience the Museum. These programs ensure that each year thousands of children and adults with financial, physical, and social limitations can visit the museum and experience its rich educational resources and unique play environment. Annual gifts also provide critical funding for ongoing preservation efforts. Donors help The Strong to grow, conserve, and preserve the world’s most comprehensive collection of toys, dolls, games, and other historical materials related to play and to advance the study of play. In addition, annual gifts support museum research and publication activities that advance the study of play.
  • Planned Giving: Financial donors play a vital role in ensuring the stability of The Strong Museum and its ongoing service to families, schools, and individuals. Planning now to make a deferred gift will help ensure that The Strong experience will be available to future generations. Through foresight and generosity, individuals can work with the Museum to fulfill long-term philanthropic goals while managing current tax situations. A deferred gift may also afford the opportunity to make a more significant gift than might otherwise be possible. Planned gifts may be made using any of the following vehicles:

    • Cocktails with the Creators: Cocktails with the Creators is a live, interactive, online Zoom series featuring the most influential and creative innovators in the video game and toy industries … and cocktails!
    • Happiest Hour: The Happiest Hour is The Strong’s 21+ after-hours event featuring games, drinks, and play throughout the entire museum.
