The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is located at the epicenter of cultural vibrancy in downtown Washington, D.C. This historic landmark has been artfully restored and includes numerous unique event spaces that are both modern and versatile. From the spacious and iconic Great Hall to the sweeping views of the new Rooftop Terrace, the library is the perfect backdrop for your next meeting or corporate event. The Library’s 5th-floor event space and Rooftop Terrace offer breathtaking views of downtown D.C. The contemporary space boasts plenty of greenery and sets the stage for a wide range of events for as many as 500, and can host up to 700 with the addition of the Auditorium pre-function space. Convenient to every Metro line and situated blocks from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, each event space at the Library can be customized to suit your needs. Plus, the experienced events team and upscale in-house caterer will help to make your next event even more monumental. Four distinctive spaces are available:
- The Great Hall (Friday and Saturday nights only): History abounds in this large, flexible space designed to make a grand impression. One of the larger event venues in the city, it makes the perfect setting for for seated galas, expos, rehearsal dinners, parties and more.
- Capacity: Seated dinner – 540 guests; Seated dinner with stage – 420 guests
- 5th Floor Event Space & Rooftop: Feel inspired by greatness on the top floor of MLK. With views of bustling downtown, this versatile space boasts a spacious rooftop terrace. Featuring flexible walls, this space can be configured to accommodate a variety of event needs.
- Capacity: Seated dinner, no stage – 150 guests; Seated dinner with stage – 120 guests; Theatre seating – 128 guests; Classroom seating – 108 guests
- The Auditorium: From live performances, to lectures, to film screenings, this state-of-the art theater is ready to hold your standing ovations. Pre-function event space is available.
