As A VENUE: Host an event…

The Hispanic Society’s Beaux-Arts buildings are an unparalleled venue for corporate and private special events. Situated on Audubon Terrace, on Broadway between 155th and 156th streets, this National Historic and New York City Landmark offers spaces that are ideal for a variety of events, from * small-scale receptions to * dinners and black-tie galas. In various configurations, the galleries can accommodate up to 350 people for a * cocktail reception and 150 for a * seated dinner. All events take place after hours from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, giving guests the opportunity to experience the art collections in an intimate and special way. Two distinctive spaces are available:

  • Main Court and Sorolla Vision of Spain Gallery: The Main Court, featuring Francisco de Goya’s The Duchess of Alba (1797) and other Hispanic masterworks across three continents, is an exquisite setting for cocktail receptions. The Sorolla Gallery is a uniquely elegant site for seated dinners, cocktail receptions, and concerts.  At this gallery, your guests will be surrounded by Joaquín Sorolla’s series of panoramic canvases, The Provinces of Spain (1911-1919), a celebration of regional costumes and cultures, of the artist’s “Vision of Spain”.
  • Audubon Terrace: Audubon Terrace is a beautiful open-air space and a monument to the Beaux-Arts architecture of the early 20th century.  It includes buildings by such architects as Charles Pratt Huntington, Stanford White, and Cass Gilbert. Originally part of a farm belonging to the painter and naturalist, John James Audubon, the Terrace lends itself perfectly to cocktail receptions, seated dinners, concerts, and dancing.
