As a VENUE: Host your event…

The Baltimore Museum of Art is a captivating event venue, with spaces for celebrations of all sizes. We’ve hosted: * milestone celebrations * intimate dinner parties * wedding ceremonies and receptions * rehearsal dinners * bar/bat mitzvahs * corporate receptions * holiday parties *  meetings * performances * film screenings, and * much more. Four distinctive spaces are available:

  • Fox Court: Majestic Fox Court, located up the front steps and just inside the historic Merrick Entrance, is an exquisite neoclassical room featuring a soaring coffered ceiling supported by elegant Ionic columns. Fox Court is our largest event space and can:
    • seat up to 180 guests for dinner and dancing, or 200 guests for dinner
  • Antioch Court: The Antioch Court showcases the BMA’s magnificent Antioch mosaics and sculptures, which date back to the 5th century. Its elegant floor-to-ceiling windows flood the court with sunlight from the interior Atrium. The Antioch Court can be:
    • rented by itself, or combined with the Fox Court for a 500-person cocktail reception.
  • BMA Meyerhoff Auditorium: The Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Auditorium is an elegant venue for * concerts * screenings * business presentations * dance showcases, and * theatrical performances. The auditorium is equipped with film and digital projectors, industry-quality sound and lighting systems, a stage suited for dance and theatrical performances, piano, portable Marley dance floors, and:
    • seating for 363 guests.
  • Gertrude’s Restaurant: Gertrude’s restaurant at the BMA hosts private events in its dining room and outdoor terrace overlooking the Museum’s Sculpture Gardens. The atmosphere and the warm hospitality make it the perfect setting for: * weddings * graduations, and * other life milestones.

As an EATERY: Food for thought…

Gertrude’s Chesapeake Kitchen: Located in the Baltimore Museum of Art, Gertrude’s has been a neighborhood staple for more than 20 years. Lauded by Food & WineTravel & Leisure, the Washington PostEdible DCThe Baltimore Sun, and a multi-year winner of Baltimore Magazine’s “Best of Baltimore”, Gertrude’s serves locally sourced farm-fresh food that preserves Chesapeake culinary traditions. Situated within the Baltimore Museum of Art, the main dining room overlooks a sculpture garden featuring works by Alexander Calder, Isamu Noguchi, and Auguste Rodin. Founded by John Shields and John Gilligan in 1998, the restaurant was on the vanguard of the farm-to-table movement and now has decades-long relationships with Maryland farms and fisheries.

Donation

Donations to the BMA help meet the cost of providing our programs and services to Baltimore. The generous support that the BMA receives from its many friends and benefactors allows it to continue its mission to inspire creativity, encourage learning, and foster human understanding.

  • Donations at specified amounts are designated or you may customize your gifts. You may donate on behalf of a business, organization, or in memory, honor, or tribute to a special person or occasion. You may identify support to a specific need. Recurring gifts are greatly appreciated.
  • Friends & Affiliate Groups: BMA Affiliate Groups are perfect for art enthusiasts who want to join a community with shared passions for specific areas of the Museum’s collection. Each Affiliate Group offers a wide range of opportunities for active participation within a network of friends and colleagues.
    • Joshua Johnson Council (JJC): JJC is one of the oldest African American museum support groups in the country. Named after an 18th-century African American painter who lived and worked in Maryland, its mission is to forge meaningful connections between Baltimore’s African American communities and the BMA by promoting and highlighting the achievements of African American artists.
    • Prints, Drawings & Photographs Society (PDPS): For the past 50 years, the PDPS has played a major role at the BMA, educating its Members, helping to build the Museum’s collection, and supporting important exhibitions and programs. PDPS Members are art lovers, artists, collectors, scholars, docents, teachers, and students – all united by their shared enthusiasm for works on paper.
    • BMA Friends Groups: For the past 50 years, the PDPS has played a major role at the BMA, educating its Members, helping to build the Museum’s collection, and supporting important exhibitions and programs.
    • Friends of the American Wing: Founded in 1970, the FOAW is a dedicated group of BMA Members who support the preservation and growth of the BMA’s important collections of decorative arts and American painting and sculpture. The American Wing includes important regional holdings from Maryland and Baltimore, plus outstanding examples of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s decorative works, and modern American masterpieces.
  • BMA Contributors: The BMA Contributor Program offers signature benefits like the Directors Brunch & Talk, BMA Travel Program, and reciprocal Membership opportunities, which encourage our Members to explore the world of art at the BMA and abroad.
  • BMA Council: The BMA Council is a distinguished group of Baltimore’s most committed cultural and civic leaders. Some are renowned art collectors. Others are noted philanthropists and corporate leaders. All enjoy a special relationship with the BMA. Through their generous annual gifts, BMA Council donors enable the Museum to achieve great things. Its world-famous collection, landmark building, and groundbreaking exhibitions shine even brighter because of Council support. Gift of securities and contributions from donor-advised funds can be applied toward a Council Membership.
  • Corporate Sponsorship & Membership: The enormous contributions of Corporate Council Members help keep the BMA dynamic and accessible to all. As a Corporate Council Member you receive exclusive benefits to engage your employees, entertain valued clients, and provide visibility to your company as a BMA corporate partner.   • The John Russell Pope Legacy Society: The John Russell Pope Legacy Society was founded to recognize and celebrate friends of the Museum who have included the BMA in their estate plans, helping to ensure that the Museum remains a vital cultural resource. This group of supporters is named for the distinguished 20th-century American architect John Russell Pope, who designed the magnificent 1929 building at the heart of our Museum to be Baltimore’s front porch. The John Russell Pope Legacy Society is open to anyone who notifies us that the Baltimore Museum of Art is included in their estate plans. Members will receive exclusive benefits and gifts.
