  • Donations at specified levels are designated, or you may customize your gift. Recurring gifts are encouraged. You may identify and underwrite efforts of your choice.
  • Planned Giving:  As you work on your will and other financial plans, museum and university staff can provide guidance on making a bequest, annuity, trust, or gift of real estate that can be a part of your lasting legacy.
  • Sponsorship Opportunities:  Individuals, corporations, and foundations can support specific exhibitions, programs, or events. The museum can tailor recognition opportunities and sponsor benefits to align with your priorities.
  • Gifts of Art:  Our museum collects historical textile art from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and indigenous cultures of the Americas, as well as contemporary art. We welcome donations of exemplary artworks that fulfill our current collecting needs. As each collection item requires custom storage and care, we encourage you to consider a financial gift in tandem with your artwork donation.

The Museum Textile Council: If you are passionate about textile art, we invite you to join this group of patrons who provide philanthropic support and come together for unique experiences. Members of The Textile Museum Council each contribute at least $2,000 annually.
The council gathers at least twice a year to:

  • Enjoy behind-the-scenes access to The Textile Museum Collection with insights from curators and conservators
  • Socialize and network with fellow textile enthusiasts
  • Tour private collections, artist studios, museum exhibitions, and art fairs in Washington, D.C., and other cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Houston
