Membership

Become a member! Serving museum members in the United States and countries across the globe, the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) is an international nonprofit professional service organization representing and advocating for the children’s museum field.

As one of the fastest growing cultural industries in the world, children’s museums have expanded exponentially in the past two decades. Currently, ACM serves over 400 total museums, businesses, educational organizations, and individuals. Which membership level is right for you?

ACM offers a number of membership levels for both individuals and for organizations. Each one is tailored to provide benefits to meet your needs. To begin, select a category that best describes you or the organization you represent.

  • Museum Membership: Are you a museum interested in supporting playful learning? Do you provide interactive spaces for children and caregivers? Are you interested in engaging with other museum professionals about informal learning for children?
  • Business Membership: ACM business membership provides organizations and consultants with marketing exposure and positions them as thought leaders to a unique and focused audience. Opt for the category of business membership that works best for you and your business.
  • Individual Membership: ACM membership for individuals offers access to resources, professional development opportunities, and a global network of colleagues. ACM individual members have a shared desire to assist the work of children’s museums and serve the needs of children and families.
  • Academic / Research Institutions: ACM membership offers academic and research institutions that train museum professionals or conduct research about child development, play, and informal learning the opportunity to connect with children’s museum professionals and promote their research, programs, and publications.

Donation

Started in 1962, with more than 460 members in 50 states and 19 countries, ACM is the world’s foremost professional society supporting and advocating on behalf of children’s museums, and those who work at and otherwise sustain them. Customized donations are welcomed.

NOTE: IMPACT FUND: Help support the programs and opportunities that ACM makes available each year through a gift to the ACM Impact Fund. By giving today, you help ACM support all children’s museum professionals as we work to ensure a healthy start in life—physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually—for all children. You’re also investing in ACM’s efforts to raise the profile of the children’s museum field. Your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
