As a VENUE: Host your event…

If you’re looking for Little Rock party facilities, look no further! Rent our historic museum grounds or indoor facilities for: * parties * business meetings * photo shoots, and * other special occasions. Our facility has quickly become a popular reception location in Little Rock and a great place to host parties, functions and more. We don’t allow fundraising (except for the museum!) nor do we host weddings.

• Stella Boyle Smith Atrium: The beautiful glass atrium with soaring 30-foot ceilings and timber-frame architecture offers a view onto the 19th century. The historic houses and grounds, which can be seen through the floor-to-ceiling glass walls, are a perfect backdrop for events. The Mary Fletcher Worthen Plaza is located outside the north entrance. The atrium space is 20 feet X 80 feet with brick floors and museum lighting. (175-200 people standing)

• Ottenheimer Theater: The 120-seat, timber-framed theater can be used for a variety of purposes including lecture, film, video, PowerPoint presentations, and live theater. Includes state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, two dressing rooms with showers, and green (backstage waiting) room.
• Balcony Café: The balcony space overlooks the Stella Boyle Smith Atrium and the historic grounds. (70 people)
• Mary Fletcher Worthen Plaza: This area, just outside the Stella Boyle Smith Atrium, is perfect for small outdoor events especially when used in combination with the atrium. Steps lead to the landscaped historic grounds and houses of the museum. (50-60 people)
• Hands-on-History Room: Comes with easy access from Third Street. This 30×30 ft. multi-use room can be divided into two smaller rooms (30 people)
• Conference Room: The upstairs conference room (12-15 people)
• Galleries: This features about 10,000 square feet of space for visitation only.
• Historic Museum Grounds: These include: Historic buildings (open); Historic buildings (not open); Plum Bayou Log House, Yard and Field; Total grounds

• Bill Worthen Future of History Fund: The Bill Worthen Future of History Fund is a fund named for the museum’s former director of more than 40 years, and is dedicated to “Inspiring the Next Generation of Arkansas History Lovers.” The Fund’s first project was to offer free education programs and field trips to any school that wanted to experience a field trip during the museum’s entire 75th anniversary year in 2016. The fundraising success of the initiative helped extend this program past 2016 and we need your help to continue this commitment to our community. Help us reach out to more schools and more students by making a contribution today. Whether it’s a visit to the museum or a face-to-face outreach program, we want to give Arkansas kids an immersive, tactile experience that ignites their interest in history.
• The Arkansas Foodways Initiative: Your donation to The Arkansas Foodways Initiative will allow the museum to delve deeper into Arkansas foodways and expand programming around our food heritage.
• Become a Historic Partner: Our Historic Partners, individuals and businesses who support the museum at an increased level, recognize the worth of collecting, preserving and sharing the history of Arkansas’s people.
• Donate to Collections: Historic Arkansas Museum’s mission to document, interpret, and preserve the state’s creative legacy and early history continues to be the guiding principle behind its collections. Since the creation of the Arkansas Made project over forty years ago, the museum has committed to collecting original works by Arkansas artists and artisans and objects made in the state. Historic Arkansas Museum is now the state’s premier repository of historic and contemporary Arkansas Made fine, decorative, and mechanical art. If you would like to preserve your Arkansas Made item in the museum’s collection for future generations, please contact our curatorial staff.

Volunteer: It’s fun and educational to volunteer at Historic Arkansas Museum. We rely on the help of volunteers throughout the year. Historic Arkansas Museum is dedicated to preserving your Arkansas history. You are the reason we are here and your involvement is essential to keep our history alive. As a volunteer, you will learn about Arkansas history from our curators and educators, meet new people, and see the delight of children as they have fun connecting with history, all while helping enrich the visitor’s experience.
